Really drinkable stuff for peatheads. The fire in the mouth also goes well with that. ;-) In the Port Charlotte category, it does not make it onto the podium of 90+ for me. Also because the metal note is slightly exhausting at times.

    Colour:
    Light gold
    Nose:
Green, salty-spicy and full of fruit aromas - lime, soft lemon and grapefruit. In addition, coal, lead, stream stones, wet peat and BBQ aromas underlaid with steam. All in all, however, a bit out of round.
    Taste:
Spicy, peaty and with a lot of chilli spiciness. Sweet notes of honey, caramel and sugar appear and this PC also looks fresh and tart at the same time with young wood and peppermint - yes, it's a somewhat weird combination.
    Finish:
Long - sweet, tart, peaty, a bit musty and still fresh. Quite dry, with notes of vanilla and powerful peat. Doesn't sound bad, but unfortunately it is totally inharmonic.

Great Port Charlotte, even without water a punch. In the mouth he is constantly increasing and is wonderfully complex.

    SMWS Tasting Notes

    Colour: ‘Healthy morning sunshine’

Powerfully phenolic: creosote, Coal Tar soap, ‘Modroc’ (plaster of Paris bandages), a smouldering fire of pine needles and green sticks. A surprisingly sweet taste, with damp bark chips, faded creosote-treated fencing, pickled jalapeno chillies, finishing with ash.It drinks well, straight. Not as powerful when water is added: ‘a boy-scout’s attempt at a fire’ or a fire damped by a down-pour; the modroc now joined by sundry items of hospital waste. The texture is smooth; the taste sweet and very smoky, with burnt sugar in the finish. The brand name is that of the village adjacent to the distillery.

Nice and typical PC, spicy, sweet, some smoke. I needed to add quite some water to this whisky to enjoy it.
