  1. dRambo scored this whisky 50 points Connoisseur

nasty :) - charcoal, licorice, cheap balsamic vinegar - curious, has nothing to do with enjoyment

As a party gag a good thing. The price does not justify the whisky. Anyone who buys something like that should leave the bottle as a collector's item on the shelf.

The smell is sweet, very sweet, malt and caramel (probably comes from the many caramel).

The taste is surprisingly good, if not what one expects from a whisky. Caramel, liquorice, sweet with a hint of something woody.

The finish is bittersweet. Bitter because of the additives, sweet, because I did not have to pay for the sample.

My conclusion: If you want to drink a black whisky, Jim Beam Cola is still in the best hands. At least the price-performance ratio is right.

    Color: Treacle - rather darker

    The nose even went.
    • Nose
Mon Cheri including cherry brandy, beet herb, Jägermeister, mushy pears, gingerbread, jam on cookies after baking. Cinnamon.
    • Taste
Plastic, bitter and sour, tree sap, but more as if you had sucked on the branches, rotten orange. Afterwards a handful of ashes.
    • Finish
Thin and at the same time disgustingly bitter and sour, burned with artificial fruit notes, burned plastic. Balsamic vinegar, liquorice.

As it is called whisky, it is whisky. But don't expect the taste of whisky... It is like dried up sirup, black coffee (not the bitterness but more the dark taste of it). In the Netherlands we've got candies called "hopjes". They come really close...

  7. rvriet did not rate this whisky Newbie

this is a very special whisky, not because of its taste, but because it really is pitch black from lying in heavily charred casks apparently with lots of charcoal pieces thrown in.

I still have a little bit left for new whisky friends so they can have a taste
    • Nose
      sweet, sherry
    • Taste
like biting in a piece of charcoal
    • Finish
      just charcoal
