[March, 2006]  Together with friends I emptied a bottle that I bought for 79 (seventy-nine) Euro in March, 2006.

In my old rating system (ten scales that translate into WB points: 50 - 66 - 75 - 80 - 82,5 - 85 - 87,5 - 90 - 92,5 - 95) I scored it 90.  My notes state a rich and adorable old school sherry profile with quite significant wooden notes (that are just right to contain the fat sherry).  The bottle was gone during one evening...

    http://kaypingers-whiskyblog.de/frontend/fullarticle.php?id=236 Color: Amontilado sherry
Nose: sticky orange, tons of forest honey, dried dark fruits and leather, lined with smoky wood. Tough malt notes, caramelized sugar in the midst of a full, peppery spice.
Taste: Soft and spicy, high salt content and untamed wood flavors characterize the first appearance. Dried fruits, leather and herbs fight against the tannins. Elderberries, stinging nettles, mint, herbal tea and notes of dark chocolate provide a balanced taste.
Finish: Long - dry-woody, dull-fruity and always spicy. Chocolate, creamy cocoa and dark pudding with a dollop of cream. Then it sounds dusty-dry and a bit woody.
    92 points (nose: 92 / taste: 92 / finish: 91)
