Complex, stunning stuff. Maybe not typical Lochside, this could have been Strathisla or Macallan or Glenfarclas or Karuizawa, but who cares? Heavy on the oak as well, but I love it.

    • Nose
Perfect sherry goodness from Ye Olden Days. In order of appearance: mint, Ginjinha, warm sand, cedar oak, chocolate ganache, lovage, cigar box, Amontillado sherry, old furniture, maple syrup, caramel flan, liquorice, Pan de Higo and an overall nuttiness. Huge sherry, but such a deep fruitiness and such elegance! The exotic oak and deep sherry push it in the direction of Karuizawa, while the mint and liquorice add some vermouth character.
    • Taste
Thick, dry, concentrated, herbal sherry. Blackcurrant, lovage again, caramel toffee, herbal honey, walnuts, black cherries, coffee powder, dark chocolate, spearmint. All kinds of old oak. So intense that it comes close to tarry, medicinal notes. Touches of Fernet-Branca in that respect.
    • Finish
Heavy and looong, dry but not over the top. Plenty of spices.

    Brilliant - highly recommended.
    • Nose
Sweet and heavy with notes of Chinese plum liqueur, sherry and exotic woods at first nosing. Strongly reminds me of the best sherry cask Karuizawas that I ever tasted. Very complex with notes of dark honey, fruitcake, and raspberry syrup. After a while I smell almonds, liquorice and tobacco. With water it smells like pure oloroso sherry and becomes fresher. A nose close to perfection.
    • Taste
Extremely powerful and strong. Usually I do not add any water, but this is difficult to enjoy without any water added, and I added a lot. A sherry bomb in perfection. Lots of oak and liquorice. There are notes of Mon Cherie and a strong spiciness (pepper, cinnamon and clover).
    • Finish
Long and warming from deep inside. The sherry lingers on and on but there is also a lot of strong black tea.
