A 22-year-old Highland Park from the sherry barrel must surely be delicious. That idea moved me to buy this whisky and I was not disappointed. The fruity nose, the unconventional but very tasty taste are remarkable in this bottling. Although I miss the taste a little the fruitiness of the nose, but this Highland Park is very complex and complex in the taste. A very fine drop.
    • Nose
At first, subtle, fruity sherry rises in the nose. A slight peat or smoke note comes out behind the dark fruits. Do I smell citrus fruits as well? The 46% are very finely integrated and round off the Nosingvergnügen.
    • Taste
Immediately peaty smoke hits me, followed by a bitter, peppery note. After that, my mouth fills with espresso and dark chocolate. A pleasant wooden taste follows. Only now does a little fruit come to light.
    • Finish
In the finish this wonderful taste of dark chocolate with coffee is found again. The long finish exudes a plump warmth, which brings a great wood note with it.

In the glass it presents itself in a pleasant hazelnut brown

On the nose it surprises with unusual aromas of soup cubes, cola cabbage, maggi cabbage, parsley, pepper, tobacco, rapeseed, wet earth, wet leaves, dark chocolate, pumpkin seed oil, soap, coffee, grass, raisins and cinnamon

Mild and warming on the palate with nuts and balsamic vinegar, Maggi spicy soup with sweet liquorice in the background.

In the finish, the aroma continues, cinnamon, culinary herbs, liquorice snails with nutmeg and removes tobacco with nuts and espresso with milk.

A thoroughly delicious - curious single malt that is really worth an experience.
I like him very much. Nothing really changes with water. Slainte

Lovely interplay between flowers, spices, fruit and nuts and the peat.

As is often the case, I am disappointed with this HP. You can expect more from a 22 year old whisky from a top brand than "nice, good, tasty, pleasant" - all real character is missing.

Not in any way an extraordinary whisky but still rather good value for the money
    • Nose
Light touch of peat and smoke, herbs and cooked vegetables, light vanilla and syrup
    • Taste
Enters without a specific taste, then moving towards malt and barley. Spices increases to a pleasant level and stays for a long time
    • Finish
Long finish, mainly with spices. at the end also a light vanilla sweetness

Seems a touch too sharp, and ill balanced. ( 18/25)

I want to like this whisky, just not sure I do.  But keep in mind I am not a fan of peaty whiskies.
    • Nose
Lots of wild flowers, and peat. Oddly stewed carrots, and a hint of well worn leather. ( 20/25)
    • Taste
A bit sharp sherry character is dominated by the peat.  Too much peat in my opinion, really overwhelms the rest of the malt.  (16/25)
    • Finish
Lots of candied apples, but still overwhelmed with leather and peat smoke. ( 19/25)

Heathery nose followed by vanilla and wood. Taste reminds me of warm milk with anis. Also some candy appars in the taste, cherry wine gums maybe.
Then the heather returns with a load of peat. The finish is a typical spicy sherry one.
