Whisky Reviews for Bunnahabhain 1991 CWC
7 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 87.48 points
- Nose: Sweet, ginger, pepper, quite a bit of sherry, not a monster just decent sherry. Some oak and caramel, hint of vanilla. There is a hint of something fresh in here some soapiness is the closed I can think of. Some spices show up after adding water (don't add water though).
Taste: Soft arrival. sirup, candy, cherry. red fruit. Hint of mint, caramel-cream. Bitter oranges. After a while the sherry pops up. With water: More sherry shows up. More oak, the rest fades.
Body: Full and matured. yet sweet and soft as silk. Bit dry.
Finish: medium-long: Bourbon-y. Hint of sherry. Sweet oak, light stable fading away. With water: all the same but diluted.
Price: I will go and buy one more. Worth the money.
Presentation: Sober but decent. As I like it.
Comments: This one should be drunken without water. Which is rare for me at such a high strength.
- Despite (or due to) the sherry finish, this one is more bitter than the 2013 version of the same cask. That one is lighter and sweeter.
Almond, caramel, smoke, tobacco, blueberry, kiwi, citrus, green banana, grapefruit, vanilla, tangerine, cornflakes and white chocolate. With water also cranberries.
Caramel, marzipan, blueberry, smoke, white chocolate, vanilla, mocha, pepper, rubber and malt.
Caramel, marzipan, blueberry, mocha and peat smoke.
