Not my case at all, weird to gross. It's called gaining experience ...
    • Nose
      77 77
Terrible nose: a little puke, rotting sea birds
    • Taste
      82 82
Somewhat better in the mouth, menthol, old wardrobe, a Cologne semi-bitter
    • Finish
      80 80
Finish with a little bit of Korodin clove-drop flavor of camphor / cloves

I like that idiosyncratic, earthy, waxy smell. It takes time to breathe.
Somewhat spicy on the palate, liquorice, wood, and not very complex. Also a little alcoholic.
I would have blindly estimated it at 60%.
Thanks to Archer for the sample

  4. Ostfriese did not rate this whisky Expert Senior

You wouldn't have waited for the taste quite so much, but the longer it lingers in the glass, the more pleasing it becomes. A dram with a surprise effect.
    • Nose
First, earthy and mineral notes. Old oak mixed with lavender, loving stick and rosemary. After a while, hints of raisins and oranges push forward.
    • Taste
Surprisingly sweet, blood oranges and licorice. Then the old oak comes forward powerfully, accompanied by the herbs, loving stick and rosemary already present in the nose.
    • Finish
Here you notice the influence of the sherry barrel, mixed with herbs, oranges and a slight sweetness.

  5. Archer scored this whisky 84 points Connoisseur

    • Nose
An unusual nose. Earthy, loamy, unwashed clothes in an old oak cabinet. Mothballs. Then bitter herbs and kirsch.
    • Taste
Sweet, creamy, salt liquorice, no trace of the mustiness in the nose. Will dry over time and show some oak.
    • Finish
Medium long, dry, herbaceous and sherry.

Nose: very musty earthy with herbs (thyme, rosemary), the typical Clynelish wax is also present, in addition bright fruits and a little sherry sweetness. Interesting but not quite my thing this extremely earthy herbal note. But if you get over the first shock, it will be more and more pleasing.
Taste: sparkling and sweet, waxed orange peel, Spezi, the herbs are now more in the background and the finish is the whole juicier and sweeter.
Huih what can you say to that, very own and still tasty. Certainly not for every day but the time to try it was worth it.
