- Bottlers note (by WEISER):
This bottle has a mouth-filling, fruity whisky light sherry-heavy with orange mum load, apricot and hints of pineapple. A good balance between delicate sherry notes and fruits. It stops in the finish, with soft notes of vanilla, soft peat... a slightly peppery spiciness at the end.
- Great Glenfarclas, setting you back around 160 EUR.
The nose is surprisingly fresh and wonderfully sweet. Loads of fruit. I have mango, apple, pear, apricots, rhubarb, gooseberries and raspberries. You could turn this into a lovely marmalade. Loads of vanilla, but also brown sugar, the kind that goes onto pancakes. Very smooth.
The whisky is mouth coating, sweet and feisty. A lot of spices, now. Pepper, nutmeg and cloves. Again a whole fruit basket passes the tastebuds. Light touches of oak. Nice balance.
In the drying finish, all the sweets and spices pass one more time, with a nice hint of woodsmoke.
