Beach bonfire (sand, seaweed, sea salt, and smoke), black and white pepper, honey, slight hickory, French vanilla ice cream, band-aids, and the finish introduces cheap hot chocolate powder. It makes for a very pleasant sipper.

    Sturdy basics.
To be able to complete such a complex flavor structure in 10 years, and to be able to sell it at a low price, it is really perfect.
How exactly did they do it?
I believe this bottle of malt is like good news for all whisky drinkers.
Thanks to Talisker, I hope this taste can be passed down to future generations and benefit mankind forever.
The total taste is 86 points, the price +1 point, a total of 87 points.
    • Nose
Lemon zest, caramel, wood aromas, with a distinct sea breeze, smoky notes.
    • Taste
Without feeling the harshness of alcohol, the gentle and smooth transfer of the elements on the nose to the smell in the mouth is almost addictive, which is fantastic.
    • Finish
      Long smoke and oak.
      I always want another drink.

Matured in American oak casks, likely ex-bourbon and ex-sherry. Slow thick dense legs, shedding into thin long ones. Midsize slow secondary legs. Rare trailing droplets. Coloured and chill-filtered. A drop of water introduces malty, spicy, and herbal notes on the nose, but restrains smoke. It also smooths the palate, bringing fruitiness, sweetness, and maltiness to the fore. A classical single malt to be savoured.
    • Nose
Smoky: warm peat, smoked fish, ash, bonfire, tar, fusil. Maritime: iodine, brine: salty sea spray, seaweed. Cereal: roasted malt, digestive biscuits, dough, seed bread. Fruity: smoked ripe dark fruits, dried fruits. Sweet: caramel, vanilla, confectionery, honey. Spicy: red pepper, liquorice, baking spices. Woody: fresh oak notes. Earthy: dried leaves, tobacco. Feints: tang. Rich, full body.
    • Taste
Sweet: caramel, toffee, vanilla. Smoky: peat, ash, tar. Cereal: roasted malt. Fruity: Fresh fruit, berries, dry fruit. Spicy: black pepper, chili. Maritime: brine, seaweed, smoked fish. Mouthcoating. Rich: intense. Full body.
    • Finish
Long. Sweet: confectionery, vanilla, toffee. Smoky: peat. Fruity: ripe fruit. Spicy: pepper, dark chocolate. Woody: oak tannins. Cereal. Maritime.

The benchmark-level performance of the entry-year whisky fully demonstrates the complexity of the whisky. The flavors of pepper, sea salt, fruit, and malt are finally exploded in the mouth. It is difficult to find whisky with a similar experience at the same price. As the whisky I drink is increasing, many entry-level models are rarely drunk, but the Tesca has been kept in the wine cabinet for 10 years. An easily accessible location.

    Talisker 10.

This is a distillery I have really struggled with at times. I feel like I should like it based on the peaty coastal promises, and yet every time I drink it I get acrid bitter notes that have a chemical harshness (which presumably what others interpret as the 'chilli catch'. That said, I have enjoyed one or two of their NAS whiskies. It's very much a distillery I approach with trepidation, and I will never throw more than just a couple of quid at trying a dram!

June 2018 - A 30ml sample. Really easy going lots of cream soda vanilla in aroma. Taste is similar with lots of smoky warmth. Decent, creamy, cream soda background. (3.3/79)

Aug 2018 - A 20cl bottle. Simple aroma. Baked apple aroma with light smoke. Taste is spicy, smoked, briney. OK. (3.2/77)

Feb 2019 - From a bottle which had been open a while, to hip flask for something to consume at a wedding. The hip flask sipping experience is certainly the most I've got out of this whisky. Suits being consumed from a hip flask outdoors - not being examined in relaxing surroundings (which is how I like to drink my whisky) (3.35/80)

  26. Don Cassi scored this whisky 80 points Expert Senior

In the nose Laphroaig Triple Wood in less intense: slightly maritime smoke, slightly sweet, relatively light. Relatively simple but not unattractive.

Creamy-sweet and slightly vanilla in the mouth. Unfortunately also a bit thin.

In the finish a flood of light, green fruits, some lemon and light oak notes (coffee). Compared to typical Islay representatives, hardly any ash. The charismatic Talisker Chili Catch is there, but also rather restrained.
    Length: 4/10

As a standard to start with smoky malts, certainly due to the PLV, an institution. Unfortunately, too little complex and voluminous for the ambitious connoisseur. I would rather go for the Islay representatives or the Distillers Edition.

    Grade: 2+

Granted you get a good or great batch (which is imho more often the case than not), this one is excellent for a 10 yo. Forget Skye and Storm, for some variation or added refinement/finess get Port Ruighe, DE, and 18, but on a good day the 10 does not fall behind its older siblings. Always one to have at home, like Laga 16, too, imho.

This is one of those drams that I seemed to like the one day and dislike the other, but I like it more often than dislike. It has it’s flaws and needs alot of air (I didn’t enjoy the neck pour at all), but turns into a wonderful dram which exceeded my expectations.

A great standard whisky at a low price, which also has a lot of independence (Talisker anyway). You can relax and drink on the couch or take it apart, the aromas are relatively easy to grasp.
    • Nose
      85 85
Nice and light fruity, apples, pears, apricots and citrus fruits, plus a light smoke. Some vanilla and caramel and nice and spicy (salt and pepper). The whole thing has a slightly medicinal touch. Like it.
    • Taste
      83 83
In the mouth, the whisky starts out minerally with light smoke, salt, pepper and a little citrus, the remaining fruit from the nose fades into the background. But it is also nice and creamy, almost soft, with great caramel notes. The alcohol is perfectly integrated, almost too pleasant.

    Talisker 10, most likely bottled early 2019, 45.8% ABV:⁣

    Color: Diageo⁣

Very high quality and arguably my favorite whisky profile. Maybe just a tad thin on the palate for mouthfeel but I’m probably stretching to find something to fault. Diageo can do right on occasion… Now only if they would bottle this at cask strength without their signature coloring lol ;)⁣

Since Serge has rated it consistently at 90pts for the recent batch, I thought it will be interesting to re-visit this as I believe this is one of the most bang for your bucks 10-year-old in the market. I'm trying a more recent batch here.

I think this deserves a big 90pts if you consider price in the rating. It's just a perfect 10YO like the Springbank 10 or Benromach 10.
    • Nose
      88 88
A lot more smokier and pungent, compared to what I had a few years back, and the maritime notes are more powerful as well. I have to say it is really nice, and the most beautiful thing is its simplicity - powerful, smoky, briney and coastal. That's all you want from a basic Talisker. Nothing to fancy, but the essential parts are just perfectly blended together on the nose. It's also rather sweet with a surprising fruitiness. Good job Diageo.
    • Taste
      87 87
Not as powerful as the nose, but still a good arrival with big dash of saltiness and peppery attacking your tongue. Nice viscosity as well. White pepper becomes more apparent, with some minerals and a bit of candy sweetness. Some minty notes as well.
    • Finish
      88 88
Faint smokiness, with saltiness and peppery playing all the way from start to finish. Rather long finish for a 10yo.

Years ago I drank this Talisker 10 regularly and I liked it. After that snobbish years hit me and I left this one aside for quite some time. Now I found it time to give it another shot. I’m curious how I feel about it with a few years more of experience.
    • Nose
This is a full and strong nose. The typical coastal, spicy and warm peated profile is there. It’s salty and sweet. I get mild peppers and some sort of mild Mexican spice mix. Also green tea-ish note and honeysyrup. Nothing to complex but very pleasant. Daily dram material for autumn or winter days. Or a long summernight with a burning fire pit and a good cigar as I will do later tonight. This will match very well with a stronger cigarblend.
    • Taste
Gentle, delicate, sweet and oily. A very delicate peatsmoke. Again a hint of salt and nice coastal influences. It is again not complex but just very tasteful. Later on the pepper starts showing.
    • Finish
Long and delicate. The fruitiness is showing itself best in the finish. Light fruits like red apple and some peach and also a whiff of red fruits. Fresh oak is what gives as a grande finale.

In conclusion this is just a very straight forward and uncomplicated dram, that I still seem to enjoy very much. If only I had to comment to something it would be that I miss a little depth in a layer of more intens fruit or something. Something the DE do very well. Taking the price in consideration, that might be a little unfair to expect from this 10yo, but it is worth the extra bucks to upgrade to a DE.

Extremely well priced daily whisky full of maritime notes and peat. Sadly it is chill-filtered and artificially coloured. Its sweetness is sometimes slightly artificial as well though. And that puts me off a little. For its price this really is a great daily dram. The one litre bottle would be my preferred to buy for bigger groups.
    • Nose

Enjoyable and good at what it does, if but a bit one-dimensional. It doesn't get any more peppery than this. The peat is active too, perhaps more so than when I had it 4 years ago. But frankly I don't get a while lot else out of it. This makes for a great daily drinker if you can get it cheaply as it is in some markets. However I wouldn't go into this expecting lots of complexity.

Famous for its 'chili catch', Talisker 10 from the Isle of Skye is said to be 'made by the sea' - a suitable analogy. Its mineral, phenolic nose reminds of fresh, salty seawater with iodine and seaweed. A light sweetness of citrus fruits combines with restrained peatiness. The arrival is strong with a rich note of malted barley and dried fruits, leaving a peppery chili burn on the palate. A real 'afterburner' that finishes pleasantly warming, briny and spicy. The only downside is the excessive addition of artificial colorant (E150a), combined with heavy chill-filtration.

I do not belong to the Talisker fans.

But this 10-year-old Talisker surprised me. For the price of 30 € you get a really good whisky with a light smoky note.

Price-performance is top. Also suitable for beginners.

Well, if you do not compare with the previous version, then everything is very good, all the characteristic components, balance, pitches, everything in its place, but in comparison with its predecessor looks more stark and simpler. It seems that with increasing volumes of release and the number of releases, the quality of the source material has fallen on average and this release is an attempt to withstand the brand under new conditions. It turned out approximately as if trying to "improve" a mediocre audio recording with an equalizer shift in all bands.

In the comparative experiment earlier / today I was most looking forward to the comparison of a current and an older Talisker 10. And it was also the Talisker 10 that had the biggest differences in my comparison. Bud smells the Lukas and offers a more varied spectrum of flavors. Terence does a good job, but not outstanding. It would be nice if Bud was a current issue of the Tali 10 ... My tip is different, because in the past everything was better. :-)

      Compare with https://www.whiskybase.com/whiskies/whisky/4425/talisker-10-year-old

      T = this bottling

B = Whisky in LinkB: Mild smoky, fine spiciness, salt, sea spray. A fresh fruit note, maybe freshly cut pears.
T: Much more restrained than Bud. Very light smoke and some salt, but the fruit dominates. No pears as in Bud, more towards mild citrus (tangerines).
    • Taste
B: Pleasantly strong and creamy. Directly a dry wood note on the tongue, lots of salt, pear pieces. Cool smoke of a campfire, mixes beautifully with fruit and salt. Fine-sour chocolate comes, freshly roasted coffee beans and not too sweet honey. Always accompanied by a pleasant salty note. Rosy paprika and Cheyenne pepper push the fruity-fresh notes into the background after a while. T: Even Terence lathers vigorously on the tongue, brings a good dose of salt, but less dry wood with it. Like in the nose, there are tangerine aromas, along with vanilla and cocoa.
    • Finish
B: Medium in length, reasonably dry, spicy, peppery and slightly sweet.T: Medium long, also reasonably dry, but less spicy than Bud and less "deep" overall

Very enjoyable 10-year-old whisky that is relatively light on peat and thus a good introduction to smoky whiskies. The sweetness keeps it well-balanced and, given some time to breath, the whisky might surprise you with a grassy note. The finish is relatively short, but the nose and taste make up for it. Pleasant throughout.

The mouth feel is pleasantly bodied and creamy and the finish lasts form spans a minute or more. For a 10 year old, this is surprisingly approachable and engaging. If you're testing the waters of peat and haven't been scared off by lightly peated whiskies, this is a good middle ground malt.

Class!!! A really great standard that has always earned a place in the bar. For me a clear recommendation
    • Nose
first soft smoke and then a lot of sweetness and fruitiness, a very sweet malt aroma of melted toffee, the 45.8% bring only a light fresh with but nothing spicy, slowly comes the maritime seaweed note, in general, rather easing, a lemon grass note comes through, a hint of orange-apricot jam for breakfast on the coast.
Very inviting for the first sip
    • Taste
very maritime, directly the distinctly salty flavors, seaweed and a little serenity in the direction of black ground pepper, somewhere in between a tannin is distinguished, in addition to a beautiful fruity sweet spice of the oak, light apricot aroma is repeated, a few tannins are to be felt Nevertheless, he remains very well balanced

Mr Talisker, give us our 10th birthday; and quick!.
    • Nose
It's a pretty complex, equally sweet nose waiting for us. Odors of a coastal port (seawater stagnant in puddles, seaweeds, nets, diesel oil) with smoke, a good pack of sweet fruits, strong spices (pepper), a touch of beeswax, maybe old exotic wood. That's endearing !.
    • Taste
It starts with punch and complexity on a certain "fat", pepper smoke, vanilla fruit compote, before drying gently with notes of ozone, camphor ointment, strong spices (black pepper , ginger) and a woody astringency.

A malt that makes one realize that some of them really do make reasonably prized, excellent age-stated core-range malts in these days of hype, overprizing and NAS. Guaranteed experience of pepper, mild & round smoke, a sturdy and full body and a pleasant syrupiness. Were it not for the very slight acrid/over-sweet, off-note I associate with the colorant, this would score an 87/88 by me. A character that could well be called a wise man's Port Ellen: something very similar to the OB 3rd and 6th PE-releases. The Ellen's are quite a few categories higher in my book, yes, but they are also two-and-a-half times older and 40-50 times the price at the moment. If you are new to the game and like this, then I would recommend to try also the Distiller's Editions which are pure greatness. All in all real (use)value and (intrinsic)quality for money.

N: An old favourite for many of us, but tasted blind how will it fair? Guesses from the group start with Ardbeg and deliberate around Ardmore or Ledaig once islay has been ruled out. I nosed Icing-sugar lemon and peat, lots of peat with some sherry, but we are all convinced it's either Islay or a familiar peated mainlander.
T: Burned, charred, woody lemon oak with a thinness to its body but a subtle strength and complexity - it wont be Ladyburn. After a mild fresh breeze and a little stagnant movement it moves right along.
F: Grainy oak, always true to the distillate. A dry conclusion, neither definitely smokey or peaty but something in between.
C: With a subtle strength at its core, we were all rather perplexed and confused to be told it as Talisker. It's not what I associate with this great standard dram. Next up, no. 6: WB

The ratio of price performance is amazing is peat, but delicate, supplemented with pepper. I am not surprised at the fact that she has been awarded so much awards, and that she is generally pleased with her. Buy a bottle while they are still.
    • Nose
Gently smoky, with a hint of honey, inconspicuous traces of fruit, and the smell of fine pepper.
    • Taste
Gently peppered peat, a little salt or rather seafood, pepper, sweet sweetness, acrylic maltiness. It is balanced and quite intense with smoke in more reasonable doses than Ardbeg, Caol Ila or Laphroaig.
    • Finish
Quite dry recipe, smells of smoke, salt, iodine, sugar residue, and a not too successful effort of fruit to express itself.

Algae on the beach, spray, shells, fishing boats but a total calm lake is the impression of the remains. A good malt that impresses with its simplicity and its salty sea flavors, but lacking in intensity
    • Nose
light smoke and saltiness, sea and coast, immediately paired with sweet malt, a little chilli and black pepper, a little vanilla, overall not very intense in the aroma, completely indefinable bright fruits such as peach, marzipan potatoes and always in the background light smoke, very pleasant
    • Taste
spicy but I remembered it more intensively, no alcohol, spicy spicy (chilli) then sweet malt and honey, some smoke and saltiness, smoked salmon

medium-long and creamy with smoke, pepper and salt, the association of sea and coast remains

    Talisker 10 yo (45.8%, OB, 2015)
If there’s one whisky that I always follow, year after year, it’s
Talisker 10 (and Lagavulin 16). Utterly loved the ones bottled in 2014,
as if all these new NAS had lifted any pressure from the 10 – the best
casks going into that one. Just a wild theory, of course… Colour: gold.
Nose: perfect. Pure, clean, very coastal, smoky… I find engine oil,
tiger balm, shoe polish, oysters, touches of green chartreuse, bandages,
muscle balm (at the gym)… Everything’s just perfect. Mouth: a desert
island whisky (but do they do them as double-magnums?) I find this one a
tad rounder and more vanilla-ed than previous batches, though, but the
peppery smoke keeps roaring. Some salt too. Finish: long, slightly acrid
as it should be, salty, peppery, and a little petroly. That, I like
even more. A wee camphory side yet again. Comments: always a benchmark.
Rather smokier than older batches (from, say 10 years ago). SGP:367 - 90 points.

A round and yet powerful standard with clear characteristics. Even the first nose transports you to the sea with stormy sea and rocky coast. The so-called chili-catch is an experience. Should not be missing in any bar - 13.02.2016
    • Nose
Pleasant and warm smoke, sea, salt, smoked salmon, a hint of lemon, black pepper
    • Taste
Malt sweetness, spicy, creamy, salty-spicy, lemongrass, pepper and smoke spread and fill the mouth

To me personally, the Talisker 10 is nothing more than just a very simple entry Single Malt Whisky. Yes, it's cheap and widely available but certainly nothing spectacular. The average rating of 85 points is quite exaggerated imho. To me it's not even good enough to be an above average "daily dram". The best thing about this one is its price tag.

    Serge:
    Talisker 10 yo (45.8%, OB, +/-2014)
Colour: gold. Nose: better rounded, and rather more herbal than I
remembered. Caraway, cumin… Then more damp chalk and clay, antiseptic,
braking fluid, creosote, notes of overripe oranges, bandages, oysters
‘from yesterday’… There is some wildness, and yet it’s clean and precise
spirit. Love it. Always loved it. Mouth: amazing. Everything’s perfect.
Lemon, wet clothes, raw wool, grains, porridge (not my favourite food,
though), pepper, some kind of green curry, seaweed (the stuff our
Japanese friends serve as salad, the name escapes me)… Frankly, this is
great whisky. Finish: long, salty, clean, and yet complex, and yet
finely delimited (what?) Comments: bang for your buck! Having said that,

very mature for his ten years. Not overly complicated but quite complete. As everyday dram almost too much of a good thing. The chilli-catch and the smoke may not be for everyone, but they're both not overly strong enough to knock you out. Maybe a good whisky to try.
    • Nose
initially clear peat smoke and iodine, very maritime, then strong notes of lime and grapefruit. Once you get used to it there is a full basket of ripe bananas. At the very back comes sweet malt smell.
    • Taste
first honey-sweet smoke, then pepper develops to a pleasant, not too strong sharpness. Citrus and sweet malty notes accompany the taste towards the end, with the sweetness increasing to the end.

"It was better before" ..... pfffff .... I do not know, I had to be 7 or 8 years old at the Epoch Times. By cons, what I know: this whisky really has its paw, and propelled me into the world of mustaches. To you, connoisseur of malts and its history, I teach you nothing. To you, a novice whisky researcher who is wondering where to start, or who has heard of it, but who knows not too much .... do not look anymore, well, if you keep looking, but for 30 €, you have no right to let this one pass.
    • Nose
Immediately sea, salt and seaweed. Then arrive soon fruit, apple and banana, which settle more and more. The fruits end up being dominant, but the algae are never far away. Win to be a little more sailor yet. After some time, vanilla and caramel make their way.
    • Taste
It's sweet, clear. It seems that the fruits have won the fight in the liquid, where the fight was a lot harder moments earlier on the nose.
But little by little, slowly, deliciously sneaky, they are chewed by smoke, by ashes, which send us to the final. 1 everywhere, ball in the center. After a while, the alcohol subsides, which is a good thing.
    • Finish

peat - that is peppered and sugared, sea breeze - at first quite fresh, salt as well as sweetness, a lot of pepper again and again, apple, some dried pears, smoke - also peppered, something doughy, hints of herbal tea, thick custard, dried banana again and again - getting more, something mineral, some lemon juice near the alcohol - coming in waves, there is some oak cask behind the peat, caramel pudding - later more caramel heading towards toffee, chocolate pudding - later there are hints of noble milk chocolate, hints of green grape, some wood, chlorine
    • Taste
strong, spicy, sourness from lemon juice, sour apples, some sweetness, slightly sweetened peat, some smoke, pepper, some minerals, some salt, banana - also some banana split, hints of slightly peppered but sweet custard, hints of salt water and wet stones
    • Finish
arises smoky with mightiness, sour fruits, a lot of peat and pepper, some caramel, quite long - after some minutes it flattens out, light sweetness, clear apples, some smoked bacon, burnt crust (bread), slight tartness, minerals, some stone, getting dry

Good whisky. Differs from Islay smokies. Buy now. The quality is good, but has been even better in older bottlings. The price to pay for popularity.
    • Nose
No water: complex, smokey, clean, floral/heathery sweetness. Sweet dominates.
With water: light smoke. Dry. Clean. Less dominating sweetness. Grainy malt. Slight mustiness.
    • Taste
Spicy arrival. Develops into a hefty sweetness of ripe summer fruit. Ending dry and smokey.
    • Finish
Long finish of smoke and slightly wet grass.

Yes, it has changed quite noticeably since the time I had been tasted it. Changes are evident and much perceptable. New Talisker has different, contemporary aspects to it, it's far less peppery now, less robust, and I can't say it's good or it is not good. But, either way, I can not say I like it better as compared to old style. The previous one is more to my liking.
    • Nose
Naturally peaty/creamy-sweet peat, vegetables in a grocer's shop (cucumber, cabbage, earthy beetroot), dark berries, spicy plum jam, orange marmalade. Quite buttery, high-fat cream, apricots; differs distinctly from the former bottling nosewise.
    • Taste
First you encounter an inflow of a gentle smokiness, that switches suddenly into the sweeter pathway, where citrus fruits are thriving, and brazil nuts, and oozing almond oil. Texture's been rather light in terms of density. Savoury smoke permeates onward, mid-thick, with somewhat dusty, greyish tincture (think coal tar), camphor?, an obscure decoction note.
    • Finish
Not very lengthy, closer to a medium length. Brief sweetness soon is overpowered by the coastal notes, it is becoming saltier, seaweedy, invigorative, rising cool splashes of seawater. Ripe, sour citruses cling to the corners of the mouth, traces of lemon juice and creamy yoghurt hanging in the rare.

Very nice but acts too cheap (or poorly produced).
If you buy again, take an older one

    • Taste

    • Nose
Dry and ashy. Charcoal. Some sweetness. A bit grainy and some caramel.
    • Taste
Smokey. Peppery and salty. Quite simple but clean.
    • Finish
      Medium. Pleasant smokiness.

You have to stop with caramel, the color has become artificial, and this talisker has lost compared to previous versions ... we are on a product more consensual, easy, close to the storm. Too bad, talisker also loses some of its identity with these new versions.
    • Nose
Iodine, smoke, green fruits and sugar. A bit of a sweet side.
    • Taste
Sugar, iodine, smoke. traces of pepper. But it's a lot softer and easier than the old version of the 10th.
    • Finish
Long, iodized, but a lot of caramel and vanilla.

a few drops of water release a pleasant dried fruits sweetness and increase the complexity to the peat smoke, salt, brine and pepper. Perfect balance and one of the best value for your money. The 2012 release improved compared to earlier versions.

A must have, indispensable in any bar. I'll buy some boxes. For my taste, crushes much older and more expensive malts.
    • Nose
Powerful, expressive, very iodized, peppery but not aggressive, and abundantly smoked. We also feel some notes of sherry. The air of nothing, it is nicely complex, and really pleasant.
    • Taste
The attack is frank. It shows a great power in the mouth, with always the iodine, the smoke. However, the bitter orange marmalade brings a touch of sweet sweetness balancing this maritime break. The pepper is relatively discreet even if it continues to tease the palate.
    • Finish
Its intensity falls quickly, but still remains long enough in the mouth. Salty, with always those bitter orange notes, lemon too.

The nose isn't very convincing but the taste makes up for it and then some. Hands down my favorite "daily dram". Such a well balanced, complex taste and mouth feel. Great drinking experience.
    • Nose
Citrus, medicinal and a bit briny. Like slightly smoked fish but just a hint of it. Some raisins/dried fruits. Sometimes also a slight hint of sick pops up? All in all the nose is quite mellow, nothing really stands out.
    • Taste
Explosion of warm, dried fruits and a pleasant smokiness. Right after you swallow the tingling black pepper tickles your mouth. Such an experience!
    • Finish
Quite bitter smokiness and some dried grass. Not very long but pleasant nonetheless.

The nose was a bit disappointing (was it the influence of the caramel?), but the taste and the finish are incredible. The salt and peat are present, but in a more modest way than you will taste from the Islay-whiskies. The signature of Talisker, the pepper is obviously present!
    • Nose
More salty than peaty: seaweed, oysters, then the peat and white fruit. I wonder what it is I smell on the background: is it wax?
    • Taste
This is more like it! a full-bodied, sweet and spicy Talisker! Smokey, sweet barley, pepper, some salt influences (though less present than in the nose), and the fruit.
    • Finish
Very long and pleasant. The sweetness decreases and makes room for the pepper. The smoky barley taste remains however.

A fantastic whisky that delivers consistent quality at a reasonable price. Not as complex or smooth as the more mature editions of Talisker but a great choice for everyday drinking with friends.
