Tasty, just delicious. The tart and sweet or fruity elements harmonize perfectly with each other, the alcohol is harmoniously integrated. This blindsample is for me certainly not a high-flyer, but a very tasty malt in which it is guaranteed not boring and it would not just stay with a glass. Watch out!
    • Nose
Blind tasting: Clear and straw golden, the malt shines in the Nosing glass. From the oily streaks on the glass wall dissolves a variety of small droplets which run back into the glass as in slow motion. Citrus fruits mix at the beginning of Nosings immediately with a subtle peat and smoke, the nose is released immediately despite restrained alcohol content. Mineral peat and cold smoke are supported by a sweet fruit note, a very subtle vanilla note is suppressed rather quickly by the increasing mineral and smoke notes. The peat and smoke notes slowly fade away, minimal banana flavors and a hint of fresh orange merge with the citrus fruits. Green apple and a hint of dried fruit, but slowly the nose becomes quite one-dimensional, but the fruity sweetness stays in the nose for a long time.
    • Taste
A minimal smoky note, spicy wood and dark candied fruits start with the first sip. Pepper sharpness lays over the tongue at the same time, a pinch of salt and gunpowder heat the sharpness. Spicy wood and a subtle earthy peat note then mix to an earthy and wet pile of leaves. Dry and tart wood elements, dark nut tones follow, some grapefruit aroma shows up while this heavy and fruity sweetness is noticeably in the background. The peppery sharpness radiates a chubby heat in the entire mouth area, wooden sharpness sticks to the tongue. With tart and spicy wood elements, the taste goes on leisurely in the finish.
    • Finish
Dry wood and a subtle smoky note start the finish. The sharpness is only minimally noticeable, dried berries mix with a hint of grapefruit. Tart wood elements and old fruit flavors gradually finish the finish. Slowly, the sharpness rises again for a brief moment, then ends the finish with dark and dry wood and walnut tones.

When compared to some of the 89 Bunnas I've tried, this one is lacking.

Very pale hue, which would indicate maybe a 4th fill cask.
    • Nose
Dry sav blanc, I instantly notice that this cask is tired and will probably be the last time it's filled. We do get fruity characters but nothing that really shows a massive presence. Grapes, underripe pineapple, and a slight tart, dry oak and there is an alcohol burn present on the end of the nose, even with water being added.
    • Taste
The palate is what saves it a little, Oily, slightly fruity on the arrival. There is malt in there, so spirit-driven which I do like in some whisky, probably not here so much. It then becomes dry/very tannic on the palate.
    • Finish
Oaky & bitter with hints of ginger and yet it still seems to get even drier.

    • Nose

fruity and kind of harsh, then comes at some point a bissl shortbread over and again blatant sweetie. and again and again this bitter grapefruit dryness. Somehow I have the feeling that I should know it .....
    • Taste
in the taste comes a slight bitterness with which is not disturbing, the alcohol I find relatively well involved and prickles easily on the tongue.
    • Finish
      long and pleasant

    Class Bunna! 89 Points
    • Nose
Apple, pineapple, tobacco and polished leather shoes. One means to feel discreet smoke in the background. Salty fruitiness. Vanilla and mown grass. Very harmonious, I like it.
    • Taste
Malty-sweet and subtly dry. Notes of tobacco, leather and black bread complement each other with sweet nuttiness. There is no smoke here.
    • Finish
      medium-long and spicy-sweet. Fine!
