    So there you have it, quite an atypical Longmorn if you ask me. It has quite some savory tones in it and is much less oily/buttery than the ones I’ve tasted so far. But this is still a very well aged and elegant Longmorn with good depth of flavour and a good balance. But to be fair I never tasted a Longmorn that I didn’t like :) It needs quite some aeration time to open up and a wee drop of water may help you.
    All in all an atypical, but very well balanced & elegant Longmorn.
    • Nose
      An elegant, fresh and fruit driven whisky with aromas of acacia honey, candied ginger, apple, pear, orange, mango, unripe peach, overripe pineapple, berries (red currants, blueberries, strawberries), subtle solvent tones, malt, old furniture, old books, wet rope, rosewood, cedarwood, subtle chocolate, mint tea, grass, hint of Chinese 5 spice, a slight sour tone (vinegar/sour cream?), oak sap and creamy oak.
    • Taste
      A full, sweet and elegant whisky with aromas of licorice root, honey, ginger, pepper, bayleaf, star anise, apple, pear, macerated cherries, nectarines, licorice allsorts, slightly salted caramel, hint of chocolate, subtle tannins, rosewood, butter, hay, master stock, almond milk, cedarwood, maple syrup and old oak.
    • Finish
      A medium to long, sweet and salty finish with aromas of, honey, salted caramel, roasted almond, licorice root, butter, hint of star anise and creamy oak.

    Tasting Notes by Adelphi;

    1 of only 286 bottles from cask no. 48433
    Polished mahogany/mid amber from a first fill American oak, ex-bourbon hogshead. Moderate to good beading suggesting a good mouth texture. A light nose prickle, vibrant, with hard toffee (McCowan’s Highland Toffee) in the foreground and tinned tropical fruit salad gradually emerging, followed by scented candlewax. The latter becomes more pronounced with a dash of water (lanolin-oiled wool), comb honey and dried figs. The taste is sweet and mid palate at full strength, becoming smoother, and more mouth-filling and teeth-coating with water, with a sweet overall taste, and just a hint of brandy butter lingering in the long finish.

    • Nose
      Dominated by fruity spirit - pears, apples. Coconut, pineapple. Some honey. Buttered toast. Almonds. More oak after a while.
    • Taste
      Ripe fruit. Cherries. Liquid clover honey. Wax. Slightly floral/herbal. A little oak and menthol.
    • Finish
      Long, fruity (slightly tropical) and almondy.

  4. Malt Hans scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

    Fruity and malty aroma, mango, floral honey, yellow apples, peaches, cardamom, coconut and vanilla. Marzipan sweet taste, malt, camphor, ginger, pepper, banana, cashew nuts and vanilla. Medium long, malty and fruity end.
