In my view many of the Rosebanks from the late 1980s, early 1990s are mainly on floral and leafy notes and do lack a certain 'boldness'. This one doesn't. It's all about yellow fruit and gentle bourbon cask characteristics.
    • Nose
Very nice start with fresh floral notes of roses and heather intermingled with juicy fruitiness of yellow apples and mango. Followed by beeswax and pollen. Hints of acacia honey and a touch of cake mix. Soft spices of aniseed and linseed in the background. Nice!
    • Taste
Creamy and silky mouthcoating palate with Lots of toffee, fudge, and butterscotch. Sweetness of tinned Del Monte peaches, and Reine Claude. Toasted oak with spices of cardamom, and cinnamon. Marshmallows and Turkish Delight later on.
    • Finish
Medium long. Vanilla and a little ginger. Peel zest. Milk chocolate at the end. A Rosebank with 'character'.

Very enjoyable Rosebank, though far from the best, it's still really good.

Light vanilla, honey, lots of honeysuckle, sweet toffee, light lemon, fresh hay, freshly sanded wood, yellow flowers, light buttery note, roasted chestnuts, tiny bit of marshmallows.
    • Taste

Silky smooth on the palate. Very light burn, a little bit of white pepper, very juicy, ripe apples, toffee, honey, freshly cut grass, some oak, lots of barley, very nice start. Second chew is thicker, oilier, sweetness is up, spearmint sweetness, cane sugar, sweet apple juice, a lot more toffee, a bit of ginger, and very light notes of smoke or dried tobacco leaves. Really enjoyable. Third chew is warmer, has a little more bite, but it's still smooth. more ginger, more pepper, even a very light chili note, but it's still super juicy, has more toffee, lemon oil, fresh hay, very well balanced, great taste.

Still sweet, lots of barley, toffee, very light ginger, light spearmint, faint hint of smoke, light note of very ripe banana and lemon oil. Fabulous.

Lengthy finish. Some woody bitterness, lemom zest.
