Sherry Bomb! Draping smoke. Mouth powerful, suave, velvety, corpulent, preceded by a moderate peat attack. The final envelope, encloses, carpets the palate of coffee and fat nuts. The addition of water did not bring much, if not a note of milk chocolate. Enthusiasm 4/5

a serious rival of the Uigeadail
    • Nose
      A beautiful medicinal sherry
    • Taste
      fat, sweet
    • Finish

But how good is this Bowmore! The peat / sherry wedding is perfectly successful, balanced, complex. The wood is never invasive nor drying.
    • Nose
Sherry smoke, hmmm it smells good! I feel the smoke / navy Bowmore side; and the sherry layer comes perfectly to marry with. Leather, spray, hazelnut, tobacco ... Very strong and very complex.
    • Taste
Badaboum, explosion of exotic spices! Caramelized leather, candied ashes. Smoked peat arrives smoothly to become more and more present and mix with nuts and cooked blacks.
    • Finish
Long that lining the mouth. A lot of salt and pepper in the throat and on the tip of the tongue. Black tea is revealed, cold ashes. And always this power in the mouth.

Killer on the palate, super intense fruit notes with a light smoke - great.

Dark chocolate with lots of cocoa, smoldering mossy oak logs, a hint of Black Forest cake
    • Taste
      90 90
Not as heavy as I would have expected, rather slightly viscous, but then the incredibly delicious and seductive cherry mango papaya melon note comes from the smoker. The mixture that is simply ingenious for Laimrig.
    • Finish

Drops off a bit compared to the palate, but the smoked fruit still lingers for quite a while. This is how the (BBQ) summer tastes;)

    Incredible Bowmore!
For me, the perfect smoky sherry whisky!
Typical Bowmore smoke with a big cargo
Sherry influences like coffee, dark fruits and some leather.
The successor is already ready ...

    Very strong 92/100

A harmonious whisky with dark fruit and dark chocolate
surrounded by sea, salt, iodine and smoke
is very balanced which could be boring
but it is not because he tells us his story
from his camp under the sea level
    I have touched the sky
    • Nose
Sherry, fruit, salt, iodine, smoke, actually figs
    • Taste
Fruit, chocolate in throat smoke with the taste of salty sea breeze
    • Finish
medium long, pleasant, not very strong
      salty with fruit, harmonious

    The combination of
peat and sherry, which I always consider a challenge, work wonders in this
Bowmore. Has no quarrel with water, either. Even a good splash. Fantastic dram.
    Around 70 EUR.
    • Nose
      I have only just
poured a dram and immediately the room is filled with the rich scent of roasted
coffee beans, fresh figs, dades, coconut, walnuts and freshly waxed leather.
The second wave of aromas contains some maritimes notes, like seaweeds and
peat. They get louder all the time, turning the nose to brine. Some struck
matches as well. This is beautiful.
    • Taste
      On the palate, that
starts off very powerful and feisty, the brine and peat push forward. The sweet
sherry notes try to keep up, but to no avail. Cloves, tobacco and ginger. Turns
slightly bitter as if from the stones of grapes. The whole is simply grand.
    • Finish
      The long, warm finish
starts off sweet on all kinds of dark fruit, before the peat and brine have the
      last say.

Bowmore: Our limited release Laimrig finished its long 15 year maturation in hand-selected Spanish Sherry Casks. Just as the surrouding seas have helped shape Islay life, so the Sherry Casks have left their unmistakeabie mark on truly remarkable whisky.
    • Nose
Sweet dark sherry, figs and cocoa balanced with smoky peatiness and a salty tang.
    • Taste
A rich combination of chocolate, sherry, raisins and smoke.
    • Finish
      The long and lingering finish.
