We opened this bottle a few months ago and it got a lot better since. In our first tasting we were a bit disappointed (rate 79), but now we had to change it to a well deserved 85.
What is important about this whisky: We left it in the glass for well over 30 minutes before tasting it. That makes a big difference. Seems to be the case for other Juras as well (eg. Superstition)
    • Nose
Sweet barley sugar, some spices (lovage), toffees, that we loved crazily as children (Stollwerk)
    • Taste
Again spices, crushed coffee beans, buttercream, complex, developing slowly but constantly over time.
    • Finish
Medium long, spicy, slight hints of oak.

    Streets ahead of the 10yo
    • Nose
Mighty sherry notes but plenty of vanilla too. Very pleasant on the nose, although the regular Jura earthy note is there
    • Taste
      Orange barley water
    • Finish
      Gentle, lingering and pleasant

  7. Lafroy scored this whisky 78 points Expert Senior

    • Nose
Pine tree, soap, old cold coffee, malted
barley, hints of bourbon. The nose reminds of Christmas.
    • Taste
Watery sensation with hints of flowers, cold
coffee, light sweetness, smooth dryness, some butter flavors as well.
    • Finish
Very short, reminding of coffee with a
little bit of dryness and some sweetness.

    • Nose
honey, then fruit spices and salt
    • Taste
acidula, citrus fruits and honey and floral notes
    • Finish
      Sugar, walnuts, almonds, anise, coffee

A very nice bottling from the lads at Jura.
    • Nose
Citrus. Fresh pine. Wet creek bed. Furniture polish?
    • Taste
Vegetal and fairly light. Somewhat oily. Cedar & Oak.
    • Finish
Salty, but sweet. Spicy. Fresh sea air.
