    -slight Smoke,slight Seawater,Caramel,Vanilla,Honey
-with added water more Smoke and an unpleasant Cardboard note

    -strong Arrival

    -smoky and short

    Pretty Mediocre
Very young Single Malt with an overbearing Cardboard Note.
What stands out also, is Jura's especially excessive colouring of their Malts.
Every Single Malt from theirs looks the same.

  3. p4blo scored this whisky 78 points Expert Senior

Simple, slightly dull dram. Nothing to elaborate on.
    • Nose
Smells like a blend of malt and grain, quite dirty, black tea, a hint of smoke and gasoline, but not much going on apart from this.
    • Taste
Malty, sweet butter, sugar and a slightest hint of peat.
    • Finish
Short, on light sweetness and a touch of wood.

  7. HunterRomario scored this whisky 85 points Expert Senior

    • Nose
The smell is significantly malt, with some honey and wood, a lighter breeze of peat and spices. (84 b)
    • Taste
The taste is distinctive, interesting, intimate dryness and sweetness, pleasantly balanced on the tongue. Spicy, malted, gently smoked. In the bittersweet flavor, with the curdiness of the cheese shapes (I guess the guys betrayed it here, but today I really feel it). (85 b)

There is a litany of strange and bewildering customs on Jura but maybe the one regarding the Ankh cross demands the greatest attention. This ancient symbol dates back to Egyptian times and is long rumoured to bring good fortune. Just so long as you pour the whisky in the correct manner, by holding the bottle with the Ankh cross in the centre of your palm.

Crafted from a selection of the finest aged Jura single malt whiskies, this mysterious spirit has a unique style and character, with tastes of spice, honey, pine and peat with a whisper of smoke.

Gold Winner at the 2009 SFWSC Awards.

    • Finish
      Lightly smoky.
