- Normally I don't like smoky drams... but this one somehow suits me.
- 88+ points on average? That's quite overrated in my opinion.
- The tasting notes are a bit further down!
Complex and refined with notes of bitter oranges, cherries, strawberries, raspberries, currants, sherry, vanilla, fruity tea, toffee, caramel, chocolate, sweet licorice, malt, walnuts, nutmeg, smoked ham, BBQ, leather, salt, tar, sea air, seaweed, slightly iodine, campfires, old oak and peat.
Clean and elegant with notes of overripe apples, birte oranges, Sherry, tea, caramel, pepper, walnuts, bacon, pipe tobacco, licorice root, a touch of rubber, tar, brine, cold ash, iodine, smoke and light peat.
Medium long, clean and bittersweet with notes of dried berries, lemongrass, black olives, vanilla, eucalyptus, bacon, a hint of rubber, shoe polish, salt water, earth, smoke, peat and oak.
- The classic of Islay. Still good. A balanced blend of sweet and smoky. Complex but not complicated.
Much more pleasant (campfire) smoke. Sweet sherry, red fruit. Iodine, salt, seaweed and smoke. Some oak and caramel.
Smoke again, as if from a cold campfire. Oily and powerful. Smoke and cold ashes. Then savor sherry fruits, salt, licorice and iodine.
Long and warm with some licorice, salt, oak and smoke.
