Has exciting notes for a Laphi that go well together, unfortunately the finish is a bit too vegetable-green for one point more.
    • Nose
Interesting nose, carbonated Riesling? Banana, almond nut, light toffee, white chocolate, a hint of green apple and kiwi, mirabelle plum, some iodine and herbal ointment from Laphi, all quite elegant, but a little zucchini
    • Taste
But nice, already cooled ash in front, pear chips, papaya, marzipan, mirabelle plum, great, light toffee, green apple, kiwi, green tea, salt, iodine, alcohol well integrated, beautiful malt
    • Finish
Salt and pepper, zucchini, malt, rosemary, medium length

[March, 2006]  I had this dram during a MaRa rarities tasting at Limburg.

    In
my old rating system (ten scales that translate into WB points: 50
    - 66 - 75 - 80 - 82,5 - 85 - 87,5 - 90 - 92,5 - 95) I scored it 87,5.
My notes state a nose on strong banana and nougat aromas with a little smoke (I noted "comparable to the 17 year old Douglas Laing" but forgot to state which of the several 17y olds I meant).  The taste has a lot more peaty/smokey flavours and lovely fruity aromas.

http://kaypingers-whiskyblog.de/frontend/fullarticle.php?id=176 Color: white wine to straw yellow
Nose: A very strong lemon fragrance with salty character rises from the glass. Bergamot, cold peaty smoke and a hint of vanilla follow. Even after prolonged breathing, not much else happens. However, what makes the nose work is perfectly fine.
Taste: Creamy-rich taste with notes of olive oil, vanilla, lemons and freshly cut limes. Peat and smoke are in harmony with the overwhelming citrus freshness.
Finish: Super long and salty! Lots, lots of lemon and more peat and smoky elements.
Remark: Too bad that the whole malt is kept rather one-dimensional!
    90 points (nose: 90 / taste: 91 / finish: 90)
