Nose

Fresh, sweet and spirity with fruity and grassy aromas at first nosing. Notes of fresh peeled apples are dominating over other aromas like pepper and dried pears. A very nice nose.

Taste

Sweet as soon as it hits your tongue, then hot and then extremely spicy at first mouthfeel. Fresh and peppery, with grainy, caramel and vanilla aromas.  Notes of green pepper corns and unripe green apples. I love it.

Finish

Long, spicy and oaky, warming from deep inside.

Comments

If it is too strong you are too weak - an excellent ultra-spicy version of Littlemill.

Though this might not be a flawless dram, it is quite special in flavor nevertheless.
The peach and figs on the palate and the finish stand out and I haven't found these in any other recent Scotch bottlings yet.
I prefer this version over its sherry matured brother, since the sherry - which otherwise often positively complements a whisky - is taking something away from its unique strengths in this case.

All in all a whisky for special occasions for an ok price even compared to 0,7l Littlemills.

Oh Laphroaig, where art thou?
