Whisky Reviews for Glen Ord 1997 Arc
8 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 82.14 points
Fruity, citrus, wine.
Light, pineapple, rainy day
Medium, sweet tones of vanilla.
- nice fruity bourbon cask
a bit sharp whisky too me
malty - grains, apple, orange, vanilla, nuts, pepper and coffee
bitter fruits, pine apple, some smoke, spices, fudge and honey
medium drying, spices, citrus - lime and vanilla
- Not a very balanced whisky in my view. Too much sharpness for me.
Malty and yeasty. Herbal notes. Granny Smith apples and juniper berries. Cardboard as well.
Very light and clean. Winey with a sharp spicy edge of alcohol. Vermouth. Some citrus fruit and smoke.
The sharpness remains. Pepper. Aromatic.
- Easy and drinkable, but nothing special.
Mellow, herbal, smoky, with cardboard and licorice at first nosing. In addition I smell vanilla, dried pears and hints of mint.
Dry and smoky (smoke from a blown-out candle) at first mouthfeel. A sudden blitz of toffee, then over to wood, hay and pepper.
Dry and dusty.
- What I would call a nice dram with value for money
Nose is finetuned and rather vague with malty tones with tendencies towards hay, herbs and finally a hint of vanilla.
There is also a slightly immature nose but difficult to define and not at all unpleasant.
Enters the mouth with a sweetness influenced by vanilla, then soft and elegant spices
Medium long going from fading spices back to sweet vanilla and ends with thin taste of almonds
