Whisky Reviews for Glendronach 1994 CWC

4 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 88.39 points

  1. MaltMartin scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

Typical rich sherried Glendronach, but in then a (rare) IB botteling.
    • Nose
Hints of dry sherry. Humus and moss. Forrest fruits. Blackberries and raspberries. Raisins. Cough syrup. Also earthy notes.
    • Taste
Prunes and cherries. Pink grapefruit at the background. Roasted nuts. Dark oak. Mocha coffee. Maple syrup as well. Eau-de-vie fruit-liqueur.
    • Finish
Long, with an good balance between the rich fruitiness and the earthy tones. A litte nutmeg and some pine.

  2. p4blo scored this whisky 87 points Expert Senior

Feels younger than it is, a bit too rough for my taste.
    • Nose
Slightly alcoholic. Almonds, walnuts, chestnuts, leather jacket, mushrooms, soild, wood polish, toffee caramel and raisins.
    • Taste
Raisins, vanilla, cheesecake, Christmas cake, demerara sugar and quite some wood spices with chilli, pepper, ginger and cloves.
    • Finish
Slightly hot, malty, a bit bitter on burnt caramel. Medium long.

  3. thijs100 scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

A classic, sherried profile for which Glendronach is known. You won't be disappointed if sherry is your thing.
    • Nose
Old leather and furniture polish at first nosing, which transforms into oranges, sweet vanilla and cherry. It has a light waxiness also.
    • Taste
A slight spiciness is followed by cherries and forest fruits. It has a feint old school quality, with dunnage warehouse and and earthy qualitie. Old damp wood and tobacco leaves.
    • Finish
      Drying, earthy and long.
