    • Nose
A hint of smoke and lemon peel. Hay, lavender, some scorched plastic.
    • Taste
Lemons, floury apple, a hint of ashes. Slight metallic sharpness. Mineral water.

Nice "Islay-Starter". I like it as a smokey, light (and cheap) summer dram.

the nose and the palate are not bad. A bit young? oh yes! quite obvious with the wet paper and grappa notes. It's weak overall but there are some qualities in flavor. In my opinon way better than Blasda. The finish is way too short and I can't blame it on the 40% ABV. After all, Laphroaig 10 has the same ABV but a fantastic finish. Definitely a decent dram but I won't buy another bottle.

    • Nose
Smoky on the nose with brine and cooked vegetables. Barley spirit is apparent, wet paper or grappa.
    • Taste
it has a light mouthfeel, smoky and bright. There is some shell fish in this and menthol? Sweet peppery shrimps. Fishermans friend lozenges for sore throats.
    • Finish
Short with some peat. Not much else.

  5. Feusi scored this whisky 76 points Connoisseur

    Well ok for that price.
    • Nose
A hint of citrus mixed with maritim notes and a peaty smoke.
    • Taste
Rough and peaty with a more bitter smoke.
    • Finish
Rather short, warming but a bit sprity

  6. Roel scored this whisky 81 points Expert Senior

Not bad at all. The olives are very nice. This Surf version might be a good start for any Islay tasting. 81 points.
    • Nose
Strong smell of peaty shells. Some dry spices from the wood (ginger) and oaty influences too (great green olives). Some paper.
    • Taste
Young and easy. Peat and charcoal, some feinty plastic notes.
    • Finish
Quite aromatic, short, dry and smoky.
