the most beautiful thing about this Talisker is its nose
    then you expected a lot
you can almost smell his age and his secrets
In the mouth, the age prevails too
    as many interesting flavors
    but not completely convinced
as if something had been lost over the years
    an afterword
I still have cold, dry ashes in my mouth
    • Nose
dark fruits, vanilla, meadow, salt, a strong breeze smoky sea air trapped in oak ... more and more oak and cellar vaults and many years ... something to dream about with water: still camphor
    • Taste
      dark fruit, vanilla, meadow, sharpness
Salt and sea> then bitter> salt and seasoning> behind caramel sweetness (like these dry caramel sweets crumble on the tongue)
    • Finish
medium to long, nutmeg, salt and dry dull sweetness with oak

    • Nose
Amazingly light and reserved. Salty sea air, oranges, baked apricots. Dried herbs, red peppercorns.
    • Taste
Orange sweets, candied ginger. Slightly oily with a hint of beeswax. Liquorice, coffee beans, some leather. Medium.

    Colour: Gold

    Body: Medium/Full

Nose: Wow, a very different Talisker. Big beautiful old oak. Quite maritime with lots of brine, sea air, brine soaked rope and sail, tonnes of driftwood and old wet oak. I love the subtle wisps of wood smoke infused with citrusy lemon! In the background there's still some fruit with apple, lemon and lime- It's a little oaky but nice. Orange peel too. Spices coming through now- Fresh ginger and some white pepper.

Water: More aromatic, full and fruity (A bit more life to it). All the notes above but bigger, bolder and (Somehow) better. The smoke is making more of an appearance too.

Taste: Wow! Oh God, it's beautiful. Creamy arrival, very oily mouthfeel. Rich, exotic spices build- Saffron, ginger and white and black pepper. Fruity and becoming fruitier- Dusty oak but red apple, quite fresh orange. Maritime with sea air and salty brine crust. More spices build with old driftwood oak and salty smoke coming through and infusing into everything else.

Water: More fruity with more wood smoke in the development then spicy oak citrus. Complex smoke and salty oak.

Finish: Very long/Long length. Quite fruity actually with red apple, sea salt and a hint of wood smoke and old driftwood.

Great old malt. Thanks Ulli for the chance to try such a whisky.
    • Nose
Complex, maritime smoke first. Not as piercing and severe as with young Taliskers. Juniper and coniferous forest stream out of the glass. Even the thirty years in the Bourbon barrel can not be denied. Very nice nose.
    • Taste
Oily and tame at first, a light Chilli Catch goes over the tongue. Very temperate, before penetrating a nice sweet and caramel. Maritime salt and sea notes complete the whole.
    • Finish
Laaaaaaaaange in the mouth. Ash and some oak, sound on the tongue and in the mouth.

Nose: typical old tali, maritime smoke, caramel, pine needles, forest soil, some soap (?), Old and dignified Taste: oily, smoke with a lot of caramel, then comes the pepper and some charcoal Finish: very long, sweet with smoke and a lot of pepper, but ends soapy, bath salt, sauna infusion (???) Pity for the soap, otherwise brilliant - 89 points

This comes from Bourbon casks, and the nose is subtle and clean with mild oak, a whiff of swimming pools, tar and creosote, and seaweed. The taste has notes of mild peat and ground pepper, charred oak, honey, vanilla, and caramel candy. The finish is amazingly long. A damn good dram!

A good Talisker, but relatively thin and with a noticeable woody influence. I enjoyed the previous cask strength versions better
