  1. Calmar scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

Quite smooth and well-made whiskey, the most fully successful aroma, austere, balanced, noble, taste / finish is simpler, lacks density and pressure, although they add quite a lot in development, with a leisurely tasting it is quite a worthy product.
    • Nose
Restrained, dry, first nose - light mineral and industrial notes; a lot of wood - dry boards, a bathhouse, spicy varieties of wood; varnish, resin shades, oily tones, popcorn, grain, rye bread, tobacco.
    • Taste
Soft, slightly watery, spicy oak, varnish, bread tones, crackers, tobacco, ginger, oily shades, a little sweet-creamy notes, grapefruit rind.
    • Finish
Light, refreshing, oak, varnish, tobacco, popcorn, rye bread.

  2. vlad78 scored this whisky 91 points Connoisseur

The second time I try this whisky and it is very interesting to compare the sensations. Like two years ago, it makes a great impression.
    • Nose
Warm, sweet, dark aroma of raisins and prunes, tobacco leaf and leather stuff. Dry.
    • Taste
The taste is sweet, slightly bitter from dryness. Whether it is a tobacco leaf, or the bitterness of oak. But it is felt.
    • Finish
The aftertaste is sweet, slightly varnished at the very end. Just as dry.

A complex, fine, very polished representative.
Everything is subtle, interwoven, set and fine.
Great nose, cannot keep this very high level in the mouth.

Dense, finely woven. Undergrowth, foliage, a bit earthy, tobacco and leather. Finest old sherry. Everything subtle and fine.
With ventilation, there are significantly more fruity nuances (dried apricot, raisins). Cardamom, cinnamon. Shifts constantly.
    • Taste
      90 90
Fine sweetness, very polished, finest spices, silky, dense.
Set. Spicy, fine fruity old style sherry. Slightly dusty. Furniture polish and a tick carpet cleaner.
      White pepper, malty.
    • Finish
      89 89
Here too, very polished, fine and round. Pastries, the finest spices in the aftertaste. Medium length.

  4. rottendon scored this whisky 91 points Connoisseur

This is something very special, which was absolutely right for the occasion. Great balance, excellent vatting. Even if the whiskey does not meet my taste 100%, the quality is unmistakable.

    Notes from a blind tasting.

Woodruff shower powder, light acidity, only a little old bottle flavor. Later also caramel, sherry shades, cocoa and light fruits. When heated, it explodes, incredibly intense. Dark fruits are now added, there is more than you can crumble apart in a short time.
    • Taste
      91 91
Wow, it is incredibly intense and powerful, the 40% are hard to believe. It is creamy, pudding, honey, herbs and a good dash of white pepper.
    • Finish
      90 90
The finish is medium to long and interestingly, it also warms the chest vigorously, despite the 40%.
