    Funny,
feels like a good spirit in a very in-active refill cask. As if it
was aimed to age for 30+ years and someone didn't see the post-it and
bottled it too early. Interesting though & I enjoyed the sweet
cereal & cookie dough notes. One can only imaging how this would
have turned out if it were given some extra years.
    • Nose
      quite
faint, spirity & prickly. malt sweetness develops o, warm lemon -
      (lemon zest oil ?), (75)
    • Taste
      toasted)
      cereal ++, malt sweetness +, (81)
      Later:
the doughy notes come through on the palate now as well (not purely
vanilla cookies anymore but half cookie- half yeast-dough) (78)
    • Finish
      ueber
      clean. more malt +, short bread/cookies (dough) +/o, cinamon -, (83)
      Later:
more towards yeasty dough than cookie dough (79)

    Tasting note by Serge Valentin

Dailuaine 1994/2006 (45%, Samaroli, sherry cask #206/06086, 390 bottles) Colour: white wine/pale straw. Nose: starts a bit youngish and quite spirity, with rather big mashy notes. Pear spirit and kirsch. Yoghurt, vanilla and hints of cologne... Finally fresh almonds and hints of grass, cardamom and wood smoke. Nicer than it sounds actually, but definitely not very, very mature. Mouth: starts very sweet and very fruity, not unlike tutti-frutti eau-de-vie actually. Very little cask influence except for a little pepper and nutmeg. Hints of rubber, peppermint, thyme. Not really spectacular. Finish: long, more on pepper and cardamom but with these kirschy notes remaining on your tongue. Comments: not bad at all but no real thrill here I think. Young average malt whisky, no flaws-no thrill in my opinion. SGP:442 – 78 points.

    Tasting Notes by WEISER:

Aroma: Pleasant with vanilla, sherry and nuts that show up immediately and some sweetness that evolved later.

Taste: Rich and fruity. Deliciously smooth.
