In my old rating system (ten scales that translate into WB points: 5 - 66 - 75 - 80 - 82,5 - 85 - 87,5 - 90 - 92,5 - 95) I scored this dram 85. My notes state a colour of old gold (pale copper) with slow legs (what is an indication of a fat, oily texture). The nose has some OBF (lacquer/aceton) and is about an old style sherry profile (raisins from a rum pot, dark cherries, banana chips, leather). A little sulphur too. The arrival is rounded and peppery. The taste is on an overall earthy profile (forest soil in mixed woodlands) with some raisins and banana flavours again. The finish is of medium length and gets drying. I liked the nose (87 points) better than the taste (83 points).
