Nose quite neutral, the mouth is better but it's simple. A nice dram, to drink without question.
    • Nose
Fairly light and not pushy. Some malt, some fruit, and some wax.
    • Taste
Rather round. Vanilla, some wood, some wax and some pleasant fruity notes, especially dried apricots. Simple but nice.
    • Finish
Moderately long on apricot and a slight bitterness.

N: the bourbon's contribution is so much fruit! Ripe and juicy fruit, of various kinds: from banana to yellow apple, from sweet mandarin to maracuja ... What goodness; also orange jam, though light. Then the dried fruit, of that beautiful oily (nuts, above all, but also hazelnuts, and fresh butter, to tell the truth) stands out clearly. There is no trace of fragrant wood, nor a soberly creamy vanilla. Multiform, intense but not braggart. P: a nice surprise. The noble side intensifies: the overall impression is that of a beautiful oiliness, of a nice chewiness. There is not a sweetish slap, but rather: compared to the nose recedes the fruit (however, present with banana, coconut and a shadow of citrus). Rather, they exalt the malt, with its waxy and dried fruit (walnut, still) notes, a woody, spicy, herbaceous nonsoché (maybe cloves? Or bitter herbs?). Lemon kernel. F: again malty and clean, with a coconut. Dried fruits. The aging seems to be the result of an excellent interaction between cask and distillate: specifically, we are faced with a cask that is obviously respectful of the distillate that has contained, not imposing excessive vanilla and sweet notes and letting you see why the distillery makes you lose your mind passionate. Lives of balanced contradictions, it is creamy and fruity and at the same time elegant and almost austere http://whiskyfacile.com/2014/02/04/glenfarclas-19-yo-19882007-cadenheads-46/

    Glenfarclas 19y 1988/2007, 46%, Cadenhead, 306 bottles - Speyside - 72/100
Nose: first sweet (caramel, honey, vanilla), then floral. Blossoms. Taste: first sweet and then bitter. Oily as well. Butter. Smooth drinkable whisky, but nothing special. http://onversneden.com/2009/09/05/full-house/
