Glad to have had a sample. By cons, I hesitated to buy the bottle at the time. I did well to remember because it's so nice to drink, there is no complexity or originality and whiskys of this style, there are plenty!
    • Nose
Fruity at first (especially apple). Patissier in a second (tarte tatin, caramel, almond paste). Some drug hints (locabiotal). Pleasant.
    • Taste
The mouth is powerful. The texture is fat. Alcohol is relatively well integrated. We smell fruit (lemon) and a little honey.
    • Finish
      Long on fruit and honey.

Charming whisky. Bright lemony nose, fresh with a hint of pine disinfectant, some citrus tangerine with a more vigorous nosing. The palate is very bright and lively, more citrus than fades to bitter oaky vanilla flavors on the finish. Big and bright for a mid teens Glenlivet. Good batch for this series, batch 606A if you find a dusty.

If your not overly in a rush, this is a subtle but punchy dram that is fine without water and conveys an understated sophistication characteristic of the older bottlings from this Speyside distillery.
