At first this didn't really grab me. Returning after a few weeks (I wonder if it's changed in the bottle since opening?) i seems to have a lot more flavour than first time. I'm glad I have another bottle stashed. At Raymond's prices this is excellent value. Glen Grant ages well - I don't understand why the Italians drink it at 5yo
    • Nose
Bourbon vanilla, acetone and apples. Quite oaky too. Barley sugar.
    • Taste
Fruity and barley sugar again. Quite sweet and some creme brulee
    • Finish
A fairly short finish. Still sweet and fruity though. After a few seconds, the finish revives and a wave of malty sweetness returns.

Somewhat one-dimensional and simple for his age, I would not buy again
    • Nose
Caramel pudding, smoke, oak, sweetish, fresh bread
    • Taste
Brown sugar, slightly alcoholic, peanuts, bitter oak, cinnamon, apple pie, malty
    • Finish
Medium long, smoky, oak, quite dry, grapefruit

    Glen Grant 1980-2008, 27 years, 54% alc.
    Bottler: Bladnoch Forum
    Expansion: Hogshead No. 20291
    Region: Speyside, Scotland

Nose: Dry and very slightly smoky. Wood smoke, vanilla, solvents and summer apples, followed by tropical fruits and sweet malt.

Palate: Sweet and very dry, very intense. Beeswax, oak, leather and caramel, malt sugar and apple compote. In addition, a touch of fresh mint.

Finish: Very long, here comes the smoke again, which increases with time even more. Grapefruit and brown sugar next to it.

Conclusion: The different nuances complement each other really well. But he looks younger than his age promises.

    86/100 points (tasted 2016, approx. 150 €)
