- Tasted at the Limburg Whisky Fair 2019. Very light fruity, lots of pear. Beautifully integrated alcohol. There is nothing in the nose, and when drinking makes the right amount of steam on the tongue. From the mouth feeling surprisingly clear. Delicious. Conclusion: good.
- I cannot say that I am knowledgeable about Old Pulteney (this is only my
fourth sof ar), but I can say that I like this very much. A true dessert malt,
with a price tag of little over 90 EUR. Thanks for the sample, Anverness!
The nose is soft and nutty. Clear hints of malt, coconut, fresh pears
and cherries. Some coffee licqueur and marzipan. Toffee. Some milk chocolate. A
mix of Bounty and Mon Cherie? Anyway, very pleasant and nicely sweet.
On the palate, it because amazingly spicy. Pepper, vanilla and cloves.
Quite full bodied. Almost creamy, in fact. Very sweet with again some toffee
and coffee licqueur in the lead, immediately followed by coconut.
The spiciness remains in the pretty long finish, that ends with a salty
