Received a 3cl dram from a friend. Not bad but not a high roller either. Taste is much to weak for a 19 year old. I can not get exited from this dram and would not buy me a bottle when available at reasonable price. For this money better whisky's can be bought.

A delicious Speysider in a great bottle plus a great box. Well done. From the 3 series he is my favorite. The PLV is close to the limit, but with bourbon it is completely ok for me.
    • Nose
I find the nose more appealing than Madeira's. Very floral mixed with vanilla. Wonderfully done with notes of caramel and lemon peel. Light, mild oak and everything very subtle. It comes across as light, seductively sweet and fruity with some pear notes. Respect Glenfiddich.
    • Taste
He starts fruity and full. Even complex with a mild, tangy sweetness. Hello 19 years! Mouth-filling, soft, full start. Toffee with dried fruits and all kinds of spices. This bottle will keep me busy. All of that with 40%!? ... how does it work? Repurchase is preprogrammed. Wow.
    • Finish
Medium to long and warming with a malty finish. Respect Glenfiddich! Everything stays wonderfully soft and well balanced. I like that very much. House whisky. Once again I was lucky in the search for the “special malt”.

    • Nose
Fruit gum, apples (green, yellow, fresh, baked), vanilla, sweet pastries, honey, cotton candy, floral motifs, freshly sawn oak board, a hint - new leather clothing, a little perfume. Very soft and pleasant. 22
    • Taste
Medium Moderately dry (at first, and by the middle the dram becomes, rather, moderately sweet). Pepper, malt, almonds, fudge, wormwood bitterness, oak tannins, salted caramel. 21
    • Finish
Long, warming, gradually fading, slightly astringent. Shades of oak barrels come to the fore, there is also a bit of bitterness in the beer. 22

Pleasant, non-stressed whisky. In the taste of a small dip, but the flavor and finish are very good. Balance 22.

Strong Malty and beautiful honey and oak notes. Delicious, it's fun, although I would not have allowed him blind for 19 years now, as there are still tannins on the finish like young oak.
    • Nose
Malty, oak and some solvents, of bourbon, citrus notes, especially orange, herbal spiciness, caramel and a hint of vanilla and honey
    • Taste
Malty too, oak, herbs, honey, some caramel and citrus, as well as vanilla
    • Finish
the oak and herbal spice stays long, in addition the maltiness, really delicious and from time to time you can still taste tannins from the oak.

    • Nose
Fresh and sweet. Yellow apples, pears, bright grapes. Dry light wood and a trace of glue.
    • Taste
Pleasant and soft. Light fruits, mild oak spice. Milk chocolate with hazelnuts. Rather short.

    N-
Candy sweet at the beginning, then polished wood, cardamon, honey,
vanilla, honey dew and leafy. You get a bit of everything, complex yet
    easy to be like.

P- Shaved wood, sweet corn with hints of ashes and spicy nutmeg. Quite broad and echoing.

F- Medium, turn wee bit of green herbs with sweet malt remains.

Nose: a lot of fruit. Peach, mandarins. Some vanilla.

Taste: soft and light. Sweet fruit.

Finish: a bit sweet, without a lot of oak

The nose is very good, the rest is a bit flat.

  19. Tobs1991 scored this whisky 85 points Expert Senior

The Bourbon Cask Reserve has sweet notes of wood, ripe oranges and a hint of caramel on the nose. On the palate follows a sweetish vanilla notes, tart spices. A cozy warmth dominates the finish.

A superb follow-up to the Madeira cask finish. Rich and complex with a
perfect balance of sweet toffee, rich dried fruit flavours and
harmonious spice. A perfect match with a piece of fudge. I enjoyed it
    very much!

    • Nose
The nose starts off with massive toffee and lingering vanilla. Sweet and
delicate. With time fruity notes arrive with apples, spicy oranges and
pleasant citrus flavours. This is balanced by fine oak and gentle
      tannins. Very inspiring and aromatic!
    • Taste
Rich notes of toffee and vanilla, complemented by a delicate spiciness
of nutmeg, cardamom, and white pepper. Subtle leathery notes emerge with
a hint of tobacco leaves. Traces of sweet vanilla and toffee nicely
linger towards the finish. Silky, even velvety mouthfeel. Very
      satisfying!
    • Finish
The finish is lovely warm and long. Delicate toffee notes nicely switch to lingering chocolate flavours on the tail. Amazing!

WITH WATER: Clean and fresh on the nose. There's more citrus fruit
coming through with a few drops of water, balancing the delicate toffee
and vanilla notes both on the nose and palate. Warm and fine oak spice,
nutmeg and cardamom linger towards the long and velvety finish.

Quite nice overall, if you prefer a softer, lighter malt with good flavour.
    • Nose
Pear, green apple, soft honey, spun sugar, vanilla.
    • Taste
Soft, ethereal arrival, then honey, light spice, pear, ripe fruit. The spice provides a nice grip but never overwhelms.
    • Finish
Soft with a gentle tannic grip. Honey fades to pear, then oak spice.

The second release of the 'Age of Discovery' series, a 19 Years Old fully matured in American bourbon casks, inspired by the time when riverboats transported bourbon casks down the Mississippi to New Orleans. Furthermore, it is the first ever Glenfiddich exclusively matured in bourbon casks.

Well, I do not really know what to think of the good ... After the Madeira and the Red Wine had convinced me so, I am a bit disappointed with the Bourbon here. Maybe he will be better tomorrow ...
    • Nose
A lot of vanilla with a little caramel. Orange jam and bananas. Above all, there is a clear citrus note and spicy oak.
    • Taste
Slightly spicy and sweet, only a little vanilla on the palate. Old leather with pears and banana comes to light. Pretty soft mouthfeel.
    • Finish
Medium Long, spicy and warm, he goes away.

Warm tones of toffee and aromas of citrus fruits, marmalade and light tone of old orange liqueur. Well balanced with very light smoky and woody tones
    • Taste
Complex with light tannins and rich tones of vanilla pods, leather and Havana tobacco, slightly spicy (cardamom) and nutmeg tones
    • Finish
      Warm, pleasant finish.

The Glenfiddich Distillery has the Age of Discovery Bourbon Cask Reserve dedicated to the `Father of all Rivers "the Mississippi. Glenfiddich Malt Master Brian Kinsmans comment is that the pioneering spirit of the owners of the "paddle steamers" who was on the river carry the vessels of the bourbon distilleries to the port of New Orleans brought. From there, the containers shipped to Scotland for the Scottish distilleries to be reused. In honor of the long-term cooperation has this Glenfiddich 19 years old, matured in bourbon casks whisky on the market

A great follow-up to the Madeira cask, for me - a little bit better.
    • Nose
Toffee and vanilla play out first followed by a fruity cocktail of cox apples and spiced orange.
    • Taste
Caramel and vanilla give way to a leathery quality, with water a spiciness arrives with nutmeg and cardamom notes.
    • Finish
Majestically long with apple tart and warm spicy flavours.
