Whisky Reviews for Bladnoch 10-year-old

- Young, pleasantly peculiar. Soft. Exceptional in the way that it stands on its own. Recommended!
No water: first contact shows bitterness and boiled green vegetables. Then exploding into warm custard pudding, honey, light citrus.
With water: vanilla, currants, grass, fresh, citrus, creamy.
No water: hesitant arrival. Bitter citrus development. Sweet honey tone.
With water: soft bitter arrival (nice). Beautiful development of citrus.
No water: warm citrus
With water: long finish of bitter-sweet citrus.
- Classic lowland nose, with vibrant grassy notes nestled alongside zesty fruits (including orange peel, grapefruit and pear skin). A drop of water released additional hints of coffee beans and manuka honey. Crisp and beautifully balanced on the palate, with the fresh grassy aspects once again to the fore, although some herby notes also come through (parsley and coriander) alongside bergamot (think earl grey tea). Long, zesty finish which is slightly dry (but not excessively). A very characterful whisky that beautifully shows off the quality of the Bladnoch spirit.
