N: aperto e odorosissimo.

N: open and very fragrant. Almost certainly in sherry, given the thick layer of burnt sugar, caramel, almost scorched strawberry jam ... The contribution of the wood is also revealed with spicy notes, which with the smoked give notes of nutmeg, even turmeric; certainly there is a good licorice. The notes of Ardbeg malt (very ... maltose) blend seamlessly with intense and exuberant suggestions of peat, mineral and vegetal, acrid but never sharp; then, a fantastic iodized and even fishy seafaring: all fused together and still beautiful alive, in spite of the gradation and the time it was. A splash of lemon, without sugar please (?). With a little 'oxygenation, change a little' dress and becomes even more 'sweet', soft and smooth, but also the patina of wet wool is growing, to the disadvantage of smoke and marinity. P: intensity is the first (and only) sore point: the body is aquake, and perhaps over time the malt has ended up losing some degree (and already started low, to 40%) ... The aging in the bottle, that on the nose had positively influenced us, here it makes us fall from the clouds. The sweetness is withdrawn, leaving hints of sweet pipe tobacco, caramel and red fruit (jam). The scene is all taken from sea water, from wood to the appealing (great return of the adjective most loved by our fans!) And bitter, from petrified smoke gradually increasing and more 'inorganic' ... F: ... that at the end everything is taken: smoke, burnt rubber, sour peat ... A fire of dry brushwood off with sea water? The nose was very popular: let's say from 91, 92 points according to our questionable criteria; the palate, on the other hand, accompanies an attenuation of ... everything, we would say from 84, 85 points http://whiskyfacile.com/2014/10/08/ardbeg-19-yo-19741993-gm-for-turatello-40/
