Whisky Reviews for Canadian Club 08-year-old
3 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 79.00 points
- Conclusion: 81/100 points - "maybe good for mixing". This Canadian Club shows if and what is possible if you let the normal Canadian Club a little longer (about 2 years) mature in a Sherry Cask. For me, no recommendation, albeit extremely cheap. Possibly. to use for mixed drinks? With cola and ice, he makes sure quite good. Strongly alcoholic, despite "only" 41.3%. Slightly sweet notes after grapes.
Very oily on the tongue with a pronounced sherry sweetness of dried fruit and some honey.
Very short, warm finish. Something sweet and a little trivial. For a long sip, slightly dry.
- The additional 2 years of maturation and the usage of sherry casks has added some complexities to the whiskey, compared to your standard Canadian Club. This whiskey is worth a try for anyone who likes C.C. and wants to see what extra aging and an upgrade in Cask quality can do.
Nose: Vanilla, Icing Sugar, Dates, Walnuts, Moss, Cherries (still some traces of being a youthful whiskey)
Taste: Currents, Figs, Slight Saltiness, Cedar
Finish: Toffee (Medium/Short Length)
The whiskey is priced fairly for what you get. 79/100
