      Creamy in length. Sweet coffee.

Great dram. Very glenmhoroso, especially the nose. Pity for the lower alcohol level that spoils a bit mouth and finish.
    • Nose
Saffron and cork. Then intense smoked haddock. Very very nice
    • Taste
Creamy and waxy. Vanilla. Quite light.
    • Finish
Sweet, peat and sulfur come out but is not too long

    Unusual and still very good.
    • Nose
Parsley and ham, vanilla and almonds.
    • Taste
Green Herbal cardboard with a bit of gravel

From the nose he is first very extreme and peculiar, the taste in the notes are not so very different, act through the full body but sometimes like "something else", with me he has a very nice overall impression, probably , 2P more by the positive surprise than he should have eigtl.
    • Nose
Phew, as I knew them so far from them a cold bog, tart oak, lime peel, some ashtray and dusty curtain, but then again almost white wine-like bright citrus, fresh and untreated malt, fresh bread, wheat and cereals , Grasses
    • Taste
Surprised positive, full cornflakes, biscuits and lemon zest, as well as lemon drops, beautiful full and mouth-filling notes, hay, the bread and wheat, and grasses, a little dry oak and ash with lime and old leather, everything sounds eigtl not at all to my liking but still works very positive
    • Finish
Medium long, dry, malty with the cereals and citrus peels from grapefruit to lemon, some vanilla and cinnamon behind, nice malt

Not necessarily bad, but a bit unspectacular. 75 points.
    • Nose
Oak is in the nose right at the beginning. Not very aromatic, rather tart and slightly bitter. Even a slight acidity is there. Green banana. Something reminiscent of herbs, maybe some oregano.
    • Taste
Soft, banana. Fruit acid. In the second sip it gets sweeter. The alcohol is partly noticeable, without the whisky taste is particularly intense.
    • Finish
Medium long and dark. I correct myself, with the second sip now the whisky stays quite a long time.

Despite it's age, it's fresh, not too complex, but elegant, spicy and sweet.
    • Nose
Candy-floss, fresh mint, citruses, fruits, honey.
    • Taste
Creamy, sweet, spicy. Sugars, apple, vanilla and pepper. Slightly smoky wave in the end.
    • Finish
Medium length, sweet, oak finally comes in.

  14. St. Pauli scored this whisky 84 points Connoisseur

A solid whisky. It's remarkably fresh after so many years in the cask. In the finish, it shows it's age a little, where I think I can taste traces of tiredness of the cask.
    • Nose
Like liquid pastry with icing sugar and cream. Apfelstrudel comes to mind. Then plenty of soft fruit, mainly pear, and lemon. There is a green side too, predominantly on mint. Then, malt, with beeswax and honey.
    • Taste
Rather sweet on the attack, but pleasantly spicy afterwards. It's not the most full-bodied dram I've tasted, but it delivers. There is mainly the malty, creamy (vanilla), fruity, and sugar-driven side from the nose, accomanied by less mint now, but with added pepper.
    • Finish
Medium in length, getting sligthly oaky and just a bit drying. Overall it's pleasant, but not as expressive as on the nose and palate.

This is a very light whisky which surprised me but the sweetness is rather nice.
    • Nose
Smells like white wine with cleaning fluid mixed in at first, smells young bit its 30 years old?

      Hints of vanilla, peanuts (perhaps?)
    • Taste
Palate is better than the nose suggested, it is very creamy, light on pastries and cakes with icing sugar with a little heather thrown in.
    • Finish
Approaching medium with a pleasant sweetness

  18. The Macallan scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

This one brought straight back home.

A typical Highland character, it's like walking over the Highland meadows of heater and their peat bogs.

The sweetness filled with some lovely spices gives it the remarkable kick you may expect from a good Highland whisky.Ace!!

    C: Coconuts, light husk.
N: Curious one, dense yet relaxed, lots of controlled woodiness and a dry, waxy and oily development
T: Ooh, ok - goes fluffy, tissue-paper dry. Controlled freshness and corn notes at the end
C: Water flattens it. Otherwise its good.

    Scores a B-

  21. notesofmalt scored this whisky 85 points Expert Senior

Glen Mhor 1980-2011, ca. 31 years, 43% alc.
    Bottler: Gordon & MacPhail
    Extending: Sherry casks (refill)
    Region: Highlands, Scotland

Distinction: Distillery closed since 1983, demolished in 1986.

Nose: Sweetish and very floral, some perfumed soap, apples and juicy apricots. This is followed quickly by woody aromas, herbal notes and, later, delicate vanilla. Also some malt and chives, on the chives hangs a little wet soil.

Palate: Only slightly at the start, then becomes significantly heavier and meaty. Spices, oak and again the herbs (including parsley, leek) and apricots, also the taste of unripe peaches. Behind it butter crumble and lime.

Finish: Long with sweet orange and grapefruit, some oak and leather.

Conclusion: Unusually but damn interesting. Unfortunately only with difficulty available.

    85/100 points (tasted 2015, approx. 270 €)
