Whisky Reviews for Bruichladdich 1992 Valinch

2 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 87.54 points

  1. Kantenmechaniker scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

Interesting whisky, nice fruity, slightly expandable mouthfeel, but all in all quite good.
    • Nose
chocolatey sherry, slightly herbaceous, roasted aromas, fruity, rather dry than sweet, a touch of lemon, some spicy oak, which mixes with the chocolate, some caramel, but the main note is really this creamy milk chocolate with a red Fruchtunteron, the minty freshness The mouth is now showing in the nose
    • Taste
first watery mouthfeel, then more intense, creamy, here sweet, light acidity, some salt at the tip of the tongue, red fruit compote, some oak, some mint
    • Finish
Somehow quite fresh in the mouth, slightly bubbly, still sweet red fruit or berries, a little nut, a slightly woody veil is above everything

  2. Lorion scored this whisky 89 points Expert Senior

I think the whisky is great. The nose is interesting and quite good. The palate is very good and the finish is almost unique, if very special. 89 points.
    • Nose
Very fruity. Fruit salad with apple, pineapple, cherries and even figs. Spicy oak is subtle in the background, not very intrusive. It makes your nose dry. Herbal honey. With a little time, coffee aromas will be added. Creamy chocolate. The nose is gradually becoming more herbaceous. Italian garden herbs and even some dill.
    • Taste
Unexpectedly sweet and soft. Downright creamy and velvety. Only after a few moments does a tingle develop. The oak spices. The honey is viscous and warm. Very full. There is a slight bitterness in the taste. Spicy tobacco, slightly burned.
    • Finish
Long, sweet. The bitterness remains very long and is quite penetrative. I like it, but it's very persistent. It gets even bitter with time. Instead of subsiding, the bitterness increases. Interesting!
