  1. Kantenmechaniker scored this whisky 84 points Connoisseur

A light and easy-to-drink Bowmore that I would pour myself every now and then if I didn't want it to be demanding
    • Nose
Sweet and flowery, light smoke, very sweet and I would almost say thin, smoked bacon, slightly maritime, woodruff, green apple, thin herbal tea with sugar, fizzy candy
    • Taste
Creamy start, sweet, clear smoke here, floral, vanilla, salt, bacon, fresh, light, not too intense
    • Finish
Mint, ash, drier, a lot of ash, almost ashtray, but still slightly sweet flower meadow, lots of vanilla, aftertaste of a shisha with vanilla tobacco

  3. Totoro scored this whisky 84 points Connoisseur

I like the nose, but it's too thin on the palate to really compete with the Laga 16 (as it apparently was designed to do).

Leathery, musty, earthy, leafy, and sadly not yet graced with the lush tropical fruit notes that the ≈2000 distillates display.

    Color: amber
    Conclusion: beautiful, typical Bowmore
    • Nose
      83 83
pleasant, slightly salty smoke, sweetish, floral
    • Taste
      84 84
Sweet, slightly ashy smoke, fried bacon, light oak spice towards the end
    • Finish
      83 83
medium length, warming, spicy and sweet

  5. coldsun scored this whisky 84 points Expert Senior

Nose before tasting has notes of green apple, raspberry, red berries, and light notes of citric, peat, paint, gum. Caramel, toffee comes after tasting. Taste comes with sea salt, oak, zest and tiny peat. Finish is dry, various and long also with notes of gum and peat.

  6. Dre73 scored this whisky 82 points Connoisseur

pretty pleasants, but it lacks a little more Abv, would make this one much better I guess.
    • Nose
      81 81
A little smokey, bonfire. Leather, rubber, a bit of peat. Fruity as well, banana, pear
    • Taste
      82 82
A little pepper, some fruits, citrus, a little of smoke. A bit pale, taste is okay but not very strong.
    • Finish
      83 83
A little pepper still, some smoke and peat, again some citrus fruits. Middle long.

  7. Calmar scored this whisky 85 points Connoisseur

Potentially a good mole, slightly spoiled by a commercial fortress, balanced, a drink, could be deep and saturated, but it did not work out.
    • Nose
Raw, cool, sea air, mineral tones, raw pebbles, light, subtle smoke, light notes of lacquer and solvent, drying plaster, raw planks after the rain drying in the sun, lemon liqueur, a bit of fruity and citrus motifs, on the whole very closed .
    • Taste
Woody lacquer, sweet, calm peppery wave, ginger, burnt sugar, fondant, jam with lemon and orange crusts, light smoke in the background, everything would be nothing, but obviously there is not enough strength - too flattened, too flaxy.
    • Finish
Continuation of taste, ginger, sweet tea with lemon, orange peel, light spicy oak, then smoke comes out with peat, after the first sips it seems short and poor, but later develops and acquires sufficient depth and duration.

cool stuff, briny bowmore, very interesting
    • Nose
ripe fruits, round, typical bowmore peat smoke, briny, mineral, very balanced, touch of sherry, some destillate character left
    • Taste
campfire, sherry sweetness, very briny, caramel, malted barley, dries a little, winy mouthfeel, touch of apple, traces of raspberry
    • Finish
medium-long, mineral, still smoky and dry with a touch of oak

  9. wbarchive_104650 did not rate this whisky Expert Senior

I like him. Light smoke, sherry and dry. In addition, a subtle, very nice matching sweetness. Could use 46% but otherwise a really great malt.

  10. Hobbit did not rate this whisky Expert Senior

    Solid and delicious smoker.
    • Nose
First, typical Bowmorerauch, raisins, sea, mineral, seaweed, malt, pleasantly sweet, very subtle sherry, raspberry note
    • Taste
slightly cool, mild, smoke, sea, mineral, raspberry, nice sweetness, getting a bit bitter
    • Finish
thicker smoke, kelp, some oak and coffee combined with a pleasant "smoky sweetness", apple, medium long, clearly chocolate to the end.

Ripe, round, a little Bowmore typical smoke, mineral, a little sherry, very balanced, the Brennereicharakter is pleasantly represented, campfire, malt, beautiful sweetness, dries off easily, a little vinous, apple comes through, and a trace of raspberry, great stuff!

  18. cautopates scored this whisky 87 points Expert Junior

    • Nose
Iodine, light smoke, kelp, fruits behind: peach, dates and fine malt. Some caramel. All in all, a heavy sweetness behind the smoke and the maritime notes
    • Taste
Seaweed and iodine, salt, a hint of smoke in the interplay with the sweetness of ripe fruit round and complex
    • Finish
long with smoky notes and lots of sweetness

    Nose: Lavender and peat smoke
Taste: Soap! A lot of soap. Flowery, perfumy lavender notes, underlined with ash. Burnt rubber. Very unpleasant.
Finish: Lasting soapy lavender notes, mixed with burned rubber

Horrible! The worst single malt i have ever tasted. Stay away! Or, at least, try a sample first before buying a bottle.

  24. Whisky_Wolf did not rate this whisky Expert Junior

Nose: Peat smoke is complimented with toffee and fresh green apples.

Plate: Creamy oak smokiness with sweet stewed fruits and just a hint of sea salt.

The finish is long, complex and subtle.

    Data by Bowmore

  25. Angelos scored this whisky 79 points Expert Senior

The best of this whisky is the nose! One of the worst Bowmore I had so far.
    • Nose
Campfire smoke (pleasant), some caramel, some spices from the oak, but not the typical sherry flavour you would link with Bowmore. Sour notes from  Granny Smith apples
    • Taste
Somehow unripe. bitter notes from the oak, not balanced, hardly to find pleasant sweetness, you would link with well sherry-matured whisky. After some time and some drops of water, I find licorice and mint. Medical notes you would connect with Laphroaig, iodine and hints of anise.
    • Finish
Medium and dry, but with some unpleasant notes, the peat turns to a note which reminds me of the smell of tar.
