    Michter’s US*1 Unblended American Whiskey 41.7%.

    Amber orange.

Aroma has lots of barrel char, burnt orange peel, a little muted overall. Touch of cointreau, eggnog, nutmeg.

Taste is fairly flat and watery, soft vanilla and wood, pleasant woodiness. Soft and thin orange and caramel notes - but they come across as a bit light and ethereal rather than deep. Liquorice root and spice. Light woody vanilla. It's okay. Pretty plain to be honest. Was hoping for quite a lot more from this after some good experiences with Michter’s. 3.15/75

Very consistent, soft, fruity bourbon. Wonderful balance. To the best of sweet.
    • Nose
Gentle, not virtuoso. In the foreground there is a confectionery theme, vanilla muffin, fried hazelnuts, sweet woody notes, a rooster on a stick. Awesome aroma.
    • Taste
Bright. A lot of dried fruits, sweet dried apricots, caramel.
    • Finish
Continues the taste. Longer than average. There is a small bitterness, dried apricots are clearly felt.

The mouthfeel is less creamy than the bourbon, but it's still easy to casually sip. Honestly, though, they make more complex and interesting offerings.
    • Nose
Candy corn, cherries and vanilla, and sweet oranges.
    • Taste
Oak and sweet bread dough, milk chocolate, and cherries.
    • Finish
      Mixed grain bread.

Batch L15L925 N- Maple, some oily leather, or perhaps charred oak, rubbery. Fresh
young mango, icing sugar, biscuity, Soft with hints of bourbon. P- Good balance between sweet spice from oak and fruits. Almond,
cinnamon, plum and new book. Peaches and mango fruits prevail. Pleasant

F- Medium, prominent assam poi, and again nice sweet oak arises with some black pepper to give it a good spicy aftertaste.

A nice introduction to whiskey, is very easy to drink, representative and 41.7% serene. I find it cooler than other congeners.
    • Nose
It's sweet and very typical of the US. Very spicy, a big wood with accents of lacquer, varnish. It is cool enough in its class, which is not displease me. A lot of cinnamon, honey, or rather maple syrup, something of Werther's original too. With a little time develops notes of banana, chemical version, candy.
    • Taste
Like the nose, the amplitude is average, it's pretty sweet. It's still very woody, you'd almost think it was a bourbon cask with that in your mouth. Vanilla and cinnamon, maple syrup, banana touch. Same fight.
    • Finish
Quite short, signed by the wood that evokes me more than sawdust now. I like, personal souvenir! Maple syrup and cinnamon.

So, this is my info on this one: This is Michter’s Rye bourbon that is recharged through re-charring and re-racking, making this technically a first fill,… hence it losing its ‘bourbon’ status and gaining the ‘whiskey’ title.
N: The charring isn’t pronounced and the toastedness translates as husk. Theres a curious sweetness also, one that requires further investigation another time.
T: Chewy, buttery and thick. A little harsh/natural - you can really taste the distillate in this one
    F: Vanilla, spirit
C: A re, re, re bourbon made whiskey - and it works! A mark higher than the Single barrel bourbon WB.

    Scores a C+ [84]

This one is quite too bitter for me. I am pretty sure that this is good quality too, but this is probably just not my taste, that's all.
    • Nose
Very similar to the Bourbon one, A bit less sugarry.
    • Taste
Dry and bitter. Not my cup of tea.
    • Finish
      Short and bitter.

  12. Marko_I did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

there are cheaper, but it has character; I like mushrooms and maple syrup, it fits! (Batch L14B98)
    • Nose
      sweet, fresh mushrooms, mossy wood
    • Taste
woody, sweet, maple syrup, chocolate, some solvent comes through
    • Finish
      medium-long remains a mushy-tender bitterness
