- Makes you want to get directly more Old Pulteney Single Casks, what a bomb!
The power of a strong single barrel makes itself directly noticeable, sour orange, grapefruit, lemon juice, green apple, slightly coasty with some salt further back as often in OP
Salt now at the front, grapefruit, orange, perfume, green apple, lemon, fresh pineapple juice, mango, some marzipan and brown sugar, then again apple, all wonderfully strong, reminiscent of a CS Springbank with a little more salt
Astringent with a little salt, light malt with all the citrus notes of even, dry fruits, etc.
- Nice single cask whisky, but not 100% meets my taste.
The strength of alcohol cools the nose, behind it woody and a lot of vanilla. Very light approaches of coconut and mango.
Strong start, the alcohol owed. Sweet with lots of vanilla, a light spice drives mango and other sweet fruits in front of him.
Long and warm, he stays with a light sweetness, which is displaced by a spice.
- Color: yellow gold
Nose: Oh, a fruit basket, fruit salad of yellow fruit, a pinch of white pepper, with increasing duration, vanilla gets some upper hand. Alcohol well integrated.
Mouth: A fresh, fruity onset, the yellow fruits are immediately back, now a little more alcoholic, the vanilla is held back pleasantly and gives the fruit the precedence, a bit lemony, mineral, fresh and light.
Finish: The yellow fruits alternate with the lemon, here again and again the vanilla flares up in the background, the alcohol also, medium long.
With water: With a few drops of water, the nose becomes significantly vanilla, oily in the mouth and also more vanilla to the detriment of the fruit, the finish felt longer and also with more vanilla.
Conclusion: A great malt, which offers by his fresh start quite a balmy summer evening, if it gets a bit uncomfortable and heavier lures a little water, the vanilla well out.
- It was 85 euro at the distillery.
