I hate scoring malts like this because I love the nose so much, but the palate and finish just cannot keep up, so they always score lower than what they are worth in my mind. Let’s say a very enthusiastic 90.
I did not find any sulphur notes.
Wonderful OBFs, old antique wood, some herbs like thyme and bay leaf, Terry’s chocolate orange, lacquer, old wax, expensive vanilla, coins. Really pretty nose and one that I’m partial to. Really old, elegant, and luxurious. From the nose alone I would guess it was 40 years old.
Old wood, milk chocolate, wafers, rich and decadent, vanilla bean ice cream and earl grey tea. You can tell it’s lower abv, but the flavours are nice and full. Not watery, but also not full.
Varnished wood, long finish, drying black tea, dark chocolate, walnut, soft black licorice. Firm wood, but it’s not too much for me.
