A very satisfying creamy and mouth coating sherry malt. Brilliant because remaining dry though. Quite classic with no real fantasy, but very perfect in its style. I liked it a lot.

This is quite entracing! Nice deep dark Sherry. Thick and concentrated. Sultanas soaked in Armagnac, and mixed in a high end ganache. "Rum Raisin" ice cream. Jewel cake. The Guignolet-Kirsh my grandmother used to sip.
    • Taste
      91 91
Creamy and mouth coating, while remaining pleasantly dry. Walnut liqueur, and a good drop of black coffee with a kind of sweet and sour feeling. Very satisfying and never falling on the cloying edge.
    • Finish
      91 91
A long, creamy and coffeish finish.

A sherry whisky that isn't completely dominated by the cask? One that's subtle, yet rich and rewarding? Count me in.

Thanks to member GIORGOS for the sample!
    • Nose
A beautiful note of barley, with some nutty, herbal sherry. Candlewax, walnuts, wonderful old oak neither too dry nor moldy. Drier and gentler that the Glendronach Grandeur batch 10 I'm trying this one against. Water brings out fruitiness, giving us some marmalade, milk chocolate, wisps of cinnamon, and allspice. This is far from a modern sherry bomb.
    • Taste
It's a gentle one. Lots of high quality milk chocolate, walnuts, and barley. No dry tannins (hazelnuts), no sulfur, no off notes whatsoever. With water the fruits come in, but it's all on tropical ones, no jams or jellies or syrups here. Some shortbread, and again that pure barley note.
    • Finish
Clinging, resinous, with an adorable sticky caramel and milk chocolate vibe. Long, satisfying, and memorable.

Extremely complex whisky, especially on the nose. Beside a big sherry beside tannic oak,
rich fruitiness and pleasant spiceness. Excellent choice Ewan!

Big sherry, coffee, prune, rum raisin, cocktail cherry, walnut and chestnut puree.
Toffee, cocoa, antique skin, tobacco, motor oil and hay. Amazing!
    • Taste
      91 91
Creamy. Rum raisin, black cherry, milk coffee, cinnamon, cocoa and coconut.
The oak comes with nice tannins. Touch of freshly grated lemon peel.
    • Finish
      90 90
      Long, spicy, fruity, sour.

Anamazing nose, less concentrated palate and initial attack, however pleasantly vibrant with some forest fruits notes and some spicies but returns with a classy finish with earthy sherry waves that keep dancing on your tongue
    • Nose
Heavy concentrated flawless sherry, mocha, cherries, prunes, earthy, autumn wet leaves, chocolate cake with hot dark chocolate sauce, raisins, fine old leather, dark chestnut honey, dried figs, fig marmalade, grandmas walnut liquer
    • Taste
more vibrant than the nose suggested, more raisins and cherries, nice wood tanins, some spicies, cinamon, crystallized berries, orange liquer, coffee liqueur, dark chocolate
    • Finish
very long returning to the profile of the nose with mocha flavours dark chocolate and erthy notes

    Color: Mahogany
    with copper highlights

    Nose: Waouuu
a nose of sherry monster, worthy of much older malts.

    All the advantages of
sherry without the disadvantages: no varnish, no woody but a
    complete aromatic palette.

    The nose is fruity
on the orange, the grape and the fig, spiced with nice notes of
    chocolate and coffee.

At the 2nd nose we have
nice notes of leather and blueberry jam.

    Mouth: the
mouth requires a little ventilation otherwise there is a slight
    astringency of wood.

    Beautiful texture

    The attack is enough
sweet on oranges, figs, chocolate and some notes

    Evolution is more
    bitter on coffee and cocoa.

    Long final on
bitter flavors and on old alcohol, Armagnac and rum.

    Really a pity that
the wood is present in the mouth (a little softened by water) if not
    he would have got 92.

A difficult malt, fantastic nose, but the taste can not match. Probably a little too long in the barrel, annoying bitterness, too much tannin.
    • Nose
Very complex nose! Dark fruits, sherry, black chocolate, crème brulée. Fantastic (95/100 points!)
    • Taste
At first sweet, dried fruits, then a rather unpleasant bitterness, tannins
    • Finish
      Medium long, sweet to bitter
