after the fruity and subtle Littlemill
Day 2012 seems like a great smoke bomb
he tastes very good to me today
since I almost have the bottle empty now
I can say that he tastes a little different almost every time
which I rarely observe with me otherwise
he did not like me the first time as much as he does now

    I touched the sky
    • Nose
Smoke, peat, nutmeg & clove, leather & fish
      Citrus flavors, Grandma's old cupboard
    • Taste
Candied fruit, toffee, peat smoke, ashes, seasoning,
    • Finish
      long
Nutmeg, peat, dark cocoa, fiery smoke,
      Malt sweetness, salt, nice game
      salt licorice

    N: Popcorn, lemonade and fruit-sweet-savoury >sweaty peat.
    T: Dirty rounded vegetal - Caol Ila-like.
F: Vegetal sweet barley, the smoke unobtrusive.
C: This one receives mixed reviews, but I think it’s a pretty fabulous big bruiser with good form.

It's really good. Only I find it a pity that he does not continue the freshness of the nose in the mouth. That would have been really interesting.
    • Nose
Pretty fresh nose. Mint, sage. Then the smoke. Some dark fruits. Freshly cut grass, green apple and menthol cigarette.
    • Taste
In the mouth not so fresh anymore. Sweet. Brown sugar, toffee. Glazed ginger. Now the smoke starts. Now cappuccino.
    • Finish
Coffee. Cinnamon. Of course smoke. Drying.

    Tasted after the Kelpie Committee.

Sherry casks ? Overrefilled I suppose. Anyway this one was a simple, straightforward and good Ardbeg.
Less doctored than the Kelpie by the way.Tasting notes from August 2017.
    • Nose
Peat smoke, iodine, lemon, coastal notes. With aeration, citrus, mineral notes and ashes in the background.
    • Taste
Strong peat, spices (pepper, ginger), iodine, ashes. Not much.
    • Finish
      Long, smoky, lemony, spicy.

    • Nose
    • Finish
F: tutto sul legno e sulla torba. No salato, piuttosto medicinale e ‘falò spento’.
