Whisky Reviews for Miltonduff 1989 MMcK
5 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 85.85 points
Wet embers, dog hair, cocktail berries, lemon zest, honey, lacquer. Not a pleaser.
Manuka honey, brine, some smoke, and apricot jam. Oak becomes more dominant quickly.
Short, watery, like having chewed on cucumber skins. Ends up tasting exactly like cheap grappa.
- A good, barrel-strong spayseider, very dense, invigorating, at the same time sweet and festive in summer, here sherry plays far from the main role, rather goes background, the impression is that this is only the finish after bourbon aging.
Open, dry, the first nose - raisins soaked; fresh board, lemon peel, raisin water, sweet dried apricots, raw wood dust, freshly mown grass, a few mineral shades - grindstone, stone dust, warm moist brick; floral-honey notes.
Thick, powerful, woody, sweet, a wave of red pepper, honey, a light bitterness of a young bark, ginger, light pitches of resin and a carpentry workshop, on the whole very invigorating and strong.
Spicy, warming, ginger candied fruits, jam with orange peels, again reveals a wide range of raisins, apple pits, light notes of mountain ash.
Pickled ginger, balsamic vinegar, nutmeg, elegantly high strength
without the pungent spirits notes. Some cola, rusty, honey and almonds
emerge overtimes with peculiar dirty sherry notes.
Explosive, spicy and broad, brandied soaked fruits, fine bitter honey.
Very solid with no lack of refinement and silkiness.
F- Long and echoing, spicy, almonds, bitter liquorice and old wood coating.
