Good nose, but the palate might prove too challenging for many with basically no sweetness and heavy on smoke and bitter wooden notes.

Fresh, dried raisins, sweet dates, figs, fig marmalade, strawberries, toffee, honey, vanilla, pickled cherries, a bit of furniture polish, good dose of seawater, some leather and pipe tobacco pouch, freshly squeezed apple juice, old wooden cabinet. Very good nose, though a bit on the sweet side.

Alcohol level is very manageable, good dose of freshly cracked black pepper, smoke, pipe smoke, pipe wood, a dab of engine oil, more wood spices, lots of bitter oak, a very different start than what the nose promised. Actually not bad, if you're into this style. Second chew brings more smoke, lots of old leather, large dose of seawater, a bit of rubber, smoked herring, more of a challenger than a pleaser, this one. There is absolutely no sweetness, which would have otherwise offered a lot more balance. Third chew is more aggressive, has more bite, and is drier. Dry, bitter, and really smoky. Campfire ashes and embers, a very light note of sulphur shows up as well, rubber, pipe tobacco, woody bitterness, nothing even remotely sweet to be found.

Still very smoky, leathery, oaky bitter woodiness, ashes, rubber, seawater.

    • Nose
First, fruit salad. Later, strong sherry, cane sugar, raisins, dark chocolate. Nut flavors removed in the background.
    • Taste
For 57.6% a very soft start. Then the alcohol turns on (but pleasant) and brings a wealth of flavors with it. Very hard to define. A beautiful Sherry sweet with malt aromas and oriental spices. It's getting bitter now, but not overly.
    • Finish
The finish is long and creamy, with a delicate bitterness.

Very unusual and therefore special. Strong sea flavors with 20 years storage time in the first fill sherry barrel.
    • Nose
Heavy sherry, very salty, algae, seaweed, but also musty, dusty. Dried fruit. Leather, pipe tobacco.
    • Taste
Dried fruits, seaweed, dry and oily.
    • Finish
      Medium long, dark chocolate.
