Whisky Reviews for Mortlach 1960 GM

  1. SFWC scored this whisky 94 points Expert Senior

Highly complex whisky. The sherry cask hasn’t taken over. Lots of good biscuity malt notes here in the mix. A kin to the base of cheesecake with the typical red fruits on top. There’s the lovely Italian cured meats in the mid-palate, very Mortlach-y! And delicious licorice and pine needle peat in the finish with a bit of menthol thrown in. Dangerously drinkable and the nose is truly hypnotic with more and more fruits appearing over time. We bottle dated this to 1990/1991 which makes this bottling most likely a 30year.
