Whisky Reviews for The Black Grouse Blended Scotch Whisky

2 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 80.29 points

  1. MaltyMillionaire scored this whisky 80 points Expert Senior

Ubiquitous, and relatively inexpensive, I was expecting a competent blend. However, I was surprised by its overall quality and flavour profile. It is quite a pleasant sipping whisky with enough complexity to keep one amused.
    • Nose
Delicate, smooth, subtle smoke and sweet peat intermingle with honey and toffee. There is a slight citric note as well.
    • Taste
Creamy and smooth. It goes from sweet to peat - honey intermingled with delicate peat and a soft smokey texture.
    • Finish
The sweet-peat palate gives way immediately to a mellow cinnamon spice, itself fading into drying peat.

Schuster stay with your last. The Grouse does not have to offer a peated on bending and bending like all others. Gives me 80 points, although JM says, here are the 94 for the black cock attached! Whiskey fun is obviously more realistic again.
    • Nose
The nose convinces. Light peat mixed with Speyside; it penetrates fig.
    • Taste
Honey covered with fine smoke and Toft. Not bad.
    • Finish
Caramel, which turns into a light cough syrup, surrounded by an unobtrusive cigarillo, somehow harmless after the promising beginning. Not bad, but ...
