    Tasting Notes by Adelphi;

    1 of only 297 bottles from cask no. 2An incredibly old and rare European oak cask of Glenrothes. Very dark, almost rosewood with magenta lights. The initial nose is all about cola cubes and furniture polish; then Holy Communion: wafers, oxidized wine, recently polished church pews and old leather hymn books – damp and dusty. On the palate, bread and butter pudding with swollen sultanas and cold, creamy coffee with brown sugar and a slight hint of molasses. The flavour is changing all the time: Cointreau liqueur chocolates, or alcoholic Jaffa Cakes; black cherries, Cognac and toffee with a layer of bitter chocolate. No reduction required, just Sunday afternoon in a glass.

  4. Malt Hans scored this whisky 93 points Connoisseur

    Fruity aroma, mango, red apples, ripe pear, raspberries, oak, cloves, nutmeg, pepper, dark tobacco, grained coffee, dried figs, dungeon warehouse and floral honey. Medium sweet taste, eucalyptus, sultanas, dried figs, dark chocolate, vanilla, roasted nuts, ripe orange and herbal tannins. Long fruity, herbal and malty end.

    Tasting Notes by Dramming.com:

    Colour: Dark chestnut.

    Nose: A lovely mix of old leather and wood with dark fruits and chocolate.

    Palate: Blackberries, cassis, prunes, dark chocolate, coffee, hints of nutmeg and allspice.

    Finish: Long, fruity and slightly dry.

    Overall: Here is an amazing example how a whisky can taste ‘old’ with very little wood influence. And it has strong sherry without being a monster. The smoothness of this whisky is exceptional.Score: 89/100.
