    • Finish
again more wood, even something in the direction of fir, quite heavy, medium long but good reheating

    Schöner Every-Day-Dram
    • Nose
      83 83
      Rosinen, Holznoten, deutliche Sherrynoten,
      harmonische dunkle Aromen
    • Taste
      82 82
Kräftiger Antritt für 40 %, ölig voller Körper,
      Dunkle Trockenfrüchte, etwas Kaffee, Röstaromen,
      "mouthdrying"
    • Finish
      83 83
Warmer, erstaunlich langer Abgang mit würzigem Sherry

  5. Tom na Gruagaich scored this whisky 85 points Connoisseur

Smells the way whisky should smell, sometimes quite stereotypically. Malt, fruit, some sherry, nuts and oak. Everything is there. Even in the mouth fits everything, without that imposes itself, the 40% push surprisingly strong.
In the finish everything is as expected. A touch of rubber surprised. Sweet, malty, a little sherry, not too light. Just a good solid whisky.

This is a lot more fruity and pleasing than the Miltonduff 10yo (WID: 32090). Also pretty nice to drink. You can not complain about the money. But I will not buy a bottle.
    • Nose
Honey. Vanilla. Peach and apricot. Sourish white grapes. Also some tropical fruits. Freshly cut grass.
    • Taste
Fruit muesli with kaba or ovaltine in milk. Tangerine. Quittengelee. Vanilla Semolina pudding.
    • Finish
      Orange peel. Cocoa. Oak.

  9. CaskHead scored this whisky 82 points Connoisseur

Slightly diluted 10-year bottling without highlight. But not a bad whisky. I would like to know how he would make himself in cask strength? There would be more in there ... 82/100 points
    • Nose
light vanilla, some wood, some malt, light sweetness, "wheat field in midsummer" (OdinNord) it's quite good, light citrus notes, looks a bit young at first
    • Taste
Vanilla, oak (increasingly), rather light (summer whisky), a bit thin
    • Finish
some oak and very light vanilla.

  10. EinSpatzUnterVielen scored this whisky 80 points Expert Senior

Yeah, you can drink quite well, but it's nothing special, bothers me the bitterness and badly incorporated alcohol something.
    • Nose
lots of lemon, lots of vanilla, some coconut, some banana, some honey, the alcohol is not perfectly integrated
    • Taste
watery, sweetish, lots of lemon, a lot of vanilla, some honey, some pear, some banana, some malt, some shortbread, slightly bitter, alcohol is not particularly well integrated
    • Finish
short, a little dark chocolate, light sweetness, slightly bitter

  12. Dottore scored this whisky 82 points Expert Senior

blind tasting Totally crazy whisky for me, first I thought terrible, then came in the nose more and more weird stuff, beautiful mouth, weak finish ... what is it? How should I rate this? I'll say 82 confused points! 43%, what and where from.
    • Nose
First off-grade mountain cheese (I love it, but not in the whisky), sweetie, then getting better, pineapple, green grapes, in general, I feel reminded of these party skewers with cheese.
    • Taste
very sweet, cocoa, some fruit very different from nose, I do not know what to think of it. Somehow horny and on the other hand real crap ... unfortunately too weak on the chest. 10 volume percent more and that would be really interesting.
    • Finish
      Departure then way too short

  13. vojt466 scored this whisky 84 points Expert Senior

So this is my type of whisky, so I will definitely not save the points
    • Nose
Round, creamy and heavy - vanilla, chocolate, dried figs, sherry, cane sugar, caramel, topped with citrus fruit
    • Taste
Sherry, woodiness, liqueur, chocolate cherry, longer citrus, fine spiciness
    • Finish
Sherry, raisins, chocolate, woodiness, again fine spiciness - long

  14. lachaineduwhisky did not rate this whisky Expert Senior

Delicately fruity, subtle. Malted notes. On the palate, elegant, fruity, some spices despite the noticeable dilution. Final on vanilla. A whisky very nice and easy. Immediate pleasure in the absence of requirements.

    Enthusiasm 3/5

  15. NamorX68 scored this whisky 81 points Expert Junior

    blind tasting
    Uncomplicated and drinkable whisky.
    • Nose
Vanilla, banana, honey, sweet and sour at the same time. White wine.
    • Taste
sweet, vanilla, honey and cereals, ashes.
    • Finish
      Medium long, coffee

  16. didi1893 scored this whisky 86 points Connoisseur

Wonderful sweetness dominates the nose. On the nose and in the taste dominate cereal notes and harsh wood tones. An interesting and delicious bottling, probably from a bourbon barrel.
    • Nose
Blind tasting: After pouring sweet vanilla flows out of the glass immediately. The sweetness mixes with a fruity grain note, more and more sweet elements such as honey and malt come to light. A light citrus note is above the fruity sweetness. A light adhesive note is spreading.
    • Taste
Cereals and fine spiciness are the first impression. Wonderfully aromatic begins the taste and then flat gradually. Malt and barley mix with sweetness to a great taste experience.
    • Finish
The finish is initially carried by bulky grain, but then also flattens and becomes tart. The tart wood tones mix with spice, I'm just thinking of lovage. At the end of the departure creates a tart yet sweet aroma.

For the money its pretty decent but not that complex.
    • Nose
Honey, biscuit, cream, pear, pineapple, vanilla, coconut.
    • Taste
Fizzy at first but then very quickly drying on lemon biscuits, cream and light fudge.

It is actually quite thick on the palate on honey and now a little orange, finally some biscuit.
    • Finish
Not too long but pleasant enough.

Very pleasant uncomplicated dram. I have scored this at 81 marks
    • Nose
No big flavours. with a little water and time - Vanilla, Oranges, and  ripe pineapple.
    • Taste
Clean. Sweet Vanilla. Oranges. Caramel fudge
    • Finish
Short finish. Caramel Orange, Sweet Oak

  22. Angelos scored this whisky 83 points Expert Senior

    • Nose
Quite tropical fruit style, ripe bananas, apricots, maybe some peat (max. 3ppm), some beef which I would link with Mortlach whiskys
    • Taste
Fruity, quite sweet and mild with caramel and hints of vanilla, unripe mango (wooden style), unripe pineapple
    • Finish
Medium to short with tannins from the oak and burnt caramel

  24. MaltMartin scored this whisky 83 points Connoisseur

Nose is actually very good. A good drink-away whisky.
    • Nose
Peach and apricot. Herbal notes and a little sournness. Sweet barley and vanilla. Some rich oak.
    • Taste
Quite thick and waxy. Honey and vanilla again. Metalic notes. Some peat?
    • Finish
Becomes bitter. Slightly peppery. Some wood.

  25. Willie JJ scored this whisky 80 points Expert Senior

The batch variation on this stuff can be considerable, but there's nothing wrong with this. It's never going to win a prize, but its easily drinkable.
    • Nose
Very nutty with notes of chardonnay and candlewax. Greengages and kiwi fruit. Lots of white wine notes.
    • Taste
Nutty and thickly creamy on the palate. Plenty of pears and creamy custard too. Occasionally the barley pokes its nose in.
    • Finish
Pepper and cinnamon is washed with cream and draff.

  26. pilgrim77 scored this whisky 79 points Expert Senior

The nose promises much (sweet and creamy with a clear sherry presence) but it fails to deliver on the palate (quite bitter) and the finish is very short.
    • Nose
      85 85
    • Taste
      78 78
    • Finish
      72 72
