Whisky Reviews for Caol Ila 1994 GM
3 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 73.38 points
- Very sweetly with raisins in vinegar, mushy undergrowth, lazy oranges and a hint of bitter chocolate with sea salt. The taste is very juicy, after noble rotten grapes, rainy hay, almonds and soft smoke. In the finish then blood oranges and salt.
- TASTING NOTE by G&M;
Colour: Dark amber.
Nose: Subtle sweet cured notes with hints of rich dark sugar and strong fruity
red berry influences. Some subtle sea air notes linger.
Palate: Sweet and very fruity. Influences of ground oats and some delicate ash
are present. The sweet cured influences remain.
Nose: Fresh with a defined fruity nose - red berries. More delicate smoke
emerges with a subtle sweet cured edge.
Palate: Smooth and mouth coating. A nice hint of smoke with an ashy edge.
Some hints of ground oats.
Finish: Long and warming.
Cask Type(s): Finished in Tokaji casks.
Whisky Style: An after dinner dram.
- This is one of the worst Whiskies I ever tried. This one is gone terribly wrong. The caol ila is nearly not recognisable. Everything is drowning in some kind of cheesy sweet aromas.
