  1. KayMeertens scored this whisky 90 points Connoisseur

Usually the 60s Glen Grants that I've tasted are under a thick layer of sherry. This is quite different.

Conclusion: 92/100 points - "dead!" Wow, what an experience. This Glen Grant lets the taste buds ride a rollercoaster, so far there was no better one in the glass. Surprisingly fruity and supple. Link to the tasting on my blog with photos: http://www.tasting-notes.de/Archive/467
    • Nose
In the nose, tropical fruits such as mango and banana shine with subtle fruit sweetness. The alcohol is very well integrated and the wood character is much lower and more harmonious than expected. In the background a subtle vanilla sweetness combined with herbs.
    • Taste
WOW, a true palate flavors, mild and exotic, this Glen Grant presents on the palate. Mouth-filling, slightly sweet and wonderfully fruity. Very complex and deep in the palette of flavors.
    • Finish
rich, dry finish with a slightly dewy wood note.

    • Nose
Very elegant and interesting. Sweet, fully ripe tropical fruits in combination with wine gum and white wine. The wood is clear after all the time in the barrel. It brings spice with it and keeps in balance with the fruit.
    • Taste
The fruits of the nose combine wonderfully with the spice from the wood and some black tea. The whole thing is accompanied by a kind of mustard note, which is often found in Glendronachs and which I find very beautiful. It makes the Malt so special.
    • Finish
      Long, spicy and very dry.
