Does this old school 12yo DT bottle stack up? Well it's quite tasty, not the most complex thing.. but then again you shouldn't expect that with a 46%'er 12yo dram. This is great drinking whisky, makes me yearn for hotter days to enjoy this in the evening on the back porch.
Brigth and fruity, hints of perfume and malt and a twist of Limoncello maybe? There's a touch of must here and maybe a hint of crayon wax too. As it settles, the soft Jasmine fruits and gentle florals will come out, but take a bit of time.
Sweet forward palate. Sugary sweets, like crepe flowers soaked in simple syrup. Soft florals and old lace curtains. There's a twist of some dust in there, but also something that comes across a bit bitter to cut the sweetness. Bitter herbal tea, but very faint, hints of oak bark and Turkish delight.
This is the short side of the dram. It's medium in length, just wish it was longer. Then again, that sort of perfume floral dram wouldn't appeal to a lot of people with a much more punchy ABV. Oak baking spice melts with the florals and brings a vanilla sweets almost root beer ice cream float sort of thing happening here.
